Good find,
this explains the hiss complaint. Well I think a compatibility memory resource needs to be done, if this DAP is so picky with what micro SD you feed it.

Great question! As I just ordered deal of the day from best buy .

So it's not enough that one has to get the right phones with these things now we need to get the right memory card. Sony must be rubbing their collective hands together, this is the main reason why so called audiophiles get laughed at. As long as you have a decent card from a well known manufacturer like most things you'll be fine.

Talk about placebo effect, next people will need to get the right lanyard.

Two more observations after a weekend of comparisons:

Z2 sound is slightly more detailed and soundstage seems a touch wider and open. The UI is very easy to use, battery life is fantastic.

P1 sound is still warmer (not a complaint). UI is very intuitive. I like the different skins offered! Scanning sd cards is done in seconds instead of minutes with Z2. This is a big deal especially with 128 gb cards.

If I am grading them on a scale of 1-10, P1=8.5, Z2=8.75.

On my ZX1 I have about 108Gb on it and from a cold start it takes about 1 min max to scan, so it looks like the speed has slowed down in the new machine. Not good.

My A17 took to scan my 128GB sandisk 40MB/s and the internal memory topped almost at max (64GB, got free only 3GB) in 1 minute and a half, compared to my fiio x3 the same card and filled memory (8GB) takes like 10 to 20 minutes

I have relegated the fiio x3 to a 32GB card and use it as a automobile player now, his sentence for being buggy and slow stay in car prison forever

I don't have a zx2 at hand to check these claims out, I'm only putting together other people's claims.
But it does seem that just after releasing the audio file Sony memory, (that you need to sell the other kidney to purchase) other well known memory brands could be a no go.
Time will reveal all. But I think it's madness to charge that much for memory Sony.

When I decide to listen to some music, I listen to some music not press a button and do something else as you put it. Must be an age difference here.

I once had a discussion with an older man who needed new batteries for his camera, a Panasonic. I advised him to get a particular brand to which he replied, "Oh No I couldn't do that, the manual clearly says to replace with Panasonic batteries or damage could occur".

Well.... As the way it look. Toshiba Exceria 64gb is being sold for around 120$ already....and according to others, Toshiba Exceria is the best on the market now. Let's say Sony realized this, and pushed their own technology....then I really don't see why they can't charge for 25% more for new technologies, marketing....and so on ?

Really, as any common folks, who would like to buy a 64gb from Toshiba for that much ? But there gotta be a reason why they released it.

95mb/s write, and 30mb/s read is not a child play....not to mention Toshiba recently announced the newest Highspeed of up to 245mb/s write, and 95mb/s reading speed.....could this be in the Sony new HD music ?

that's not all lie...cheap batteries can **** up a machine bad, has happened before personally.  at least get a brand-name one.

the claim of use Panasonic Batteries for Panasonic device is partially due to protect themselves from legal claims / sue.
