I am guessing you are not a financial advisor!  Why on earth would it be better to spend 4 x as much to buy a new one when $110.00 fixes a minor issue on a perfectly good unit?  Please tell me where you can buy a ZX100 for $440.00!!

I tought the same , better have it fixed for "cheap" than really going against the odds of getting a DOA unit for 330 more LOL, and well it is on perfect working order just was a minor defect, a simple button board swap. If it had been really really kaput then yeah I ould probably saved for a ZX2 or held my breath for September IFA

No. The ZX100 sounds just as good as the ZX2 IMO, but without all the 'bells and whistles', Android, touchscreen etc.

I talked about this many times, but the topic zx2 believe otherwise, I think they're just trying to justify the money that was overpaid!

Maybe. But it think the two DAPs appeal to different users/people. The ZX2 is great for streaming services like Qobuz and Tidal etc. But a standalone DAP for your own library, the ZX100 is truly unbeatable.
The ZX100 sounds truly sublime with high-res files, and beat my (previously unbeatable) DX90 into submission.
Since getting my ZX100, I've sold both my DX90 and my ZX2. I just didn't need the Android features and streaming features of the ZX2. Bulky and heavy too!

Every time i see my zx100 aside from the work laptop, i see it's beauty an compact sizem seems the carrying case of my A3 is a bit bigger

As of the moment I haven't updated it yet since the first time I used it, now when I tried to upgrade the FW to 1.11 I cannot make the procedure and nothing happens when I followed the correct instruction. depends on which sony website you are downlaoding the firmware and where did you go your walkman f.e i gpt my walkman from hongkong that emans i only can download the sony Asia firmware from sony-asia.com website and not from the sony.com (usa site) or .com.mx sites

I'll be using mine with Shure IEM (846). Right now I have the Sony PHA2 headphone amp....files are FLAC using JRiver. Anyone have any different recommendations?
