Hey everyone,
For those using WM1Z, how long does your battery last? I picked mine few months ago and it barely lasts 12 hrs (files are 320Kbps/FLAC).
Cheers.
You mean the markI version? I used WM1A mark I with FLAC, and some DSD, high gain BAL volume 25, battery was about 22 hours

Depends if you're using DSP. If you are, battery life is cut in half. Also watch your screen brightness; I have mine set to 20, and off when playing music.

For those using Amazon HD, make sure your settings have normalisation turned off! I just realised this was on by default. Sound more dynamic now obviously.

Enjoying the new Muse Album! Bass and clarity with the Z5's is mega! Just need to find where one can download a 24-bit 96KHz version.

Also a bit of Walkman party :)

Which cable are you using for the EX1000? Looks good. :)

Apparently Ddhifi has caveat that it will only benefit cables with grounded shielding. Anyway it's out for the M2 series now.

I wonder if anyone even makes shielded balanced headphone/IEM cables? Most of mine are twisted or braided with no shield at all, much less wired to the sleeve of TRRRS. Maybe someone will tear into their Sony cable and see... :)

I'm still waiting for someone to say how much better it sounds...

...

Indeed, they always have it turned on by default. The same deal with Dolby Atmos/360 Reality Audio, I disable that one as well; if hardware supports it, it messes with the imaging and how instruments are positioned in space, becomes unnatural. Another one, check Streaming Quality to make sure HD/Ultra HD selected.

Btw, I'm also not a big fan of Sony's own Dynamic Normalizer dsp effect. While it does minimizes volume difference between the tracks, it sounds compressed and ruins the dynamics.

Thanks for that info, thought it would last way longer.

Nice Dignis case arrived, today. Fits perfectly. And quite slim as well.

I also added a matte display protection.
Two black dust plugs were included with the DAP.

Sometimes, I notice that the AM2 needs it's time to wakeup from auto sleep mode.

yes.the orignial version.
Ah, you mean the AK SP2000T? Currently, my AM2, with balanced out and Direct on, gets warmer than hand. But it's still okay.
Or do you mean a warm sound? To my taste the AM2, with my balanced UE RR IEM, sounds like a nice compromise between analytical/neutral and more natural. And it's quite detailed.
