They are on sale at e-earphone with 500 off on the Z Version

By the way, e-earphone buys your used WM1ZM2 in perfect condition for 2550€, that gives a good feeling about how realistic prices will look in the future. I think used A-Ranks will soon be around 3000

That deal appears to have expired, as least viewing from the UK and also in Japan via VPN. shows 159500 JPY for me.

I want one of these but aged 62 and with a life long career of sitting in recording studio control rooms listening too loudly to rock music, I am not confident my ears would be able to hear the difference between these DAPs and my £200 hi res THX Onyx DAC dongle hanging off my iPhone streaming Qobuz.

I owned 2 of Sony's 507 DAPs over the last few years and loved the light weight shirt pocket wearable form factor but their totally appalling battery life when 3rd party streaming infuriated me. The tiny screen / virtual keyboard that was nearly impossible to type and search on didn't help either.

I wonder if there will be demo models @ CanJam London? It would be amazing to do an a/b test against the Onyx.

because of your current setup with the onyx, i think any dap should be fine for testing your ears.

this is more important step :)

and the sony will give you the "signature" warm sq... that is just amazing.

Interesting... just looked up CanJam... looks like Sony isn't listed as an exhibitor, but there are some retailers that might showcase Sony gear? Hifonix is there, but they don't usually stock Sony stuff, rather Astell and kern. Close to Waterloo Station which is convenient.

The 1AM2 weigh almost twice as compare to 507. You might need sometime to get use to it.

Are they really able to drive these headphones or is there some wizardry under the table? 🤔😅
