After having tested the sony m2 using uapp its night and day better than the tidal app. Soundstage is much more in line with sp2000 if not better. i also tested pulling some files off tidal and playing through walkman app and the sound is very similar to uapp as other have mentionedIt absolutely has enough power for Traillii. It has more than enough power to drive IEM’s.
I own an SP2000 and find the stages to be comparable in size. I’d be surprised if SP1K has a bigger stage than SP2K, but I haven’t heard it so I can’t say for sure. Does seem a bit strange that the SP1K stage sounds so much bigger than 1ZM2.

SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2
On the tidal app, did you switch off the loudness normalization? It’s on by default and absolutely kills the dynamics. After having tested the sony m2 using uapp its night and day better than the tidal app. Soundstage is much more in line with sp2000 if not better. i also tested pulling some files off tidal and playing through walkman app and the sound is very similar to uapp as other have mentioned
I did not.....would probably explain a lot haha. thanks
that made a world of difference. i think the uapp/walkman app still edge out tidal but its much much better thank you
anyone have an opinion about enabling the sony headphones app? I’m cautious to do anything that would mess up the sound of this player.

Also, keep in mind that you can do Sound Adjustment outside of Walkman app since these effects are global. DSEE Ultimate ON, DC Phase Linearizer ON (Type B standard), Vinyl Processor (turntable) - and you are set!

@ToMa TomA If you are looking for great synergy with the M2s, when you go and try out the MDR-Z1R for synergy, give the IER-Z1R a listen too. @hshock76, @Damz87 and I do enjoy the synergy as much.

I think I understand that you have the 1ZM2 @ToMa TomA . In which case you will definitely be pleased with the synergy with the MDR-Z1R. The MDR has such great synergy with the Sony Signature Series range: the 1A, 1Z, 1AM2, 1ZM2 and the DMP. As it should since it is part of the Sony ecosystem. If you enjoy the Sony house sound, then it makes great sense.

I've utilized FBI image enhancers to find out the WM1xM2 uses a 2900mAH battery, for reference Sony's last android DAP the ZX507 had a battery around half the size at 1500mAH and the prior model WM1x had a 1860mAH battery. While 2900mAH seems average, bear in mind Sony uses special low impedance batteries which are physically bigger for a given capacity, this has benefits for sound quality as well as battery life span. The battery in the WM1xM2 takes up the entire inside height of the chassis this time around, compared to Sony's previous DAP's which had the battery height significantly reduced by having to sit on the PCB. The WM1xM2 also has a more efficient SOC which helps battery life. As always on the audio side S Master HX is very efficient so screen and wifi will be the biggest battery drainers.

The battery life is great. Better than any other android dap I’ve owned.I've utilized FBI image enhancers to find out the WM1xM2 uses a 2900mAH battery, for reference Sony's last android DAP the ZX507 had a battery around half the size at 1500mah and the prior model WM1x had a 1860mAH battery. I hope so . Look at almost any other DAP. It's hard to find one with a significant battery life. And usually the displays use lots of energy. The battery life is great. Better than any other android dap I’ve owned.

anyone know a case that can store the wm1zm2 and a cayin c9? I breaking my head trying to find something that fits both. I don't want to buy something and not be sure it will fit. Thanks, guys

Not cheap, but you should be able to track one down if you search for it.
