That is where you should consider getting the internal wires to be upgraded too

To play devil's advocate for a moment, technically as the UK is no longer in the EU, would the UK no longer come under EU guidelines vis-a-vis volume capping (high gain as well, I suppose) and so would Sony be clever enough to send non EU models to the UK (with Brexit not only did we get our country back but our sausages as well...). Just spitballing...

As others have said we're in a grey and transitional period. We still require products to be CE marked until the end of this year at which point we move to UK CA marking. There is a grace period for legislation to be incorporated into industry and products. My velux solar blinds for example were delivered already with UKCA marking. Under the umbrella of CE and UK CA marking Hardmonised standards and regulations are applied and so depending on where a product falls in this transitional period depends what is applied.

Which (in-ear) headphone should I get in terms of pure audio quality between MDR-Z1R, IER-Z1R or even the XJE-MHRWM1M2 if I ever go to a Sony store in Japan?
I read that IER-Z1R was unbeatable for audio fidelity but that MDR-Z1R was very interesting with its openness to surprise in terms of audio.

I have and love both Z1R but if I was forced to choose just one it would be the IER
