I wonder if I should get the 1AM2 and a IER-Z1R or just the 1ZM2 and use IER-M9 that I have. maybe get the Z1R later... seems like bothe the M2s are close in sound. can't try yet in my country as there are no demo units.
there is a sort of loose budget. it's more like extracting the best bang for buck. one thing against the 1Z might be the weight. the older model is already heavy...
let's see what Sony does for promo here. they tend to have some discount for new models. i picked up the ZX-507 for a really good price when they launched here.
If you like the existing sound of the 507, you will probably more closely prefer the sound of the 1A.
In my opinion, I feel that you should get the 1AM2 and IERZ1R. I think that the change in earphones from the M9 to the Z1R is way more worth than the move from the 1AM2 to the 1ZM2. I personally am choosing to buy the Z1R over the M9 due the sheer impact of the bass and the presence the Z1R gives me.
As for discounts, you probably have to wait a little bit, Sony themselves don't really cut prices but I figure you can probably find them from a 3rd party for a good price.

yeah, it's sort of leaning that way. before buying the M9, i tested the Z1R as well. at that time i felt that the M9 was better for me. but i am tempted by the Z1R again.
thanks for your opinion.
It’s apples and oranges. Try dropping the DMP-Z1 into your shirt front pocket and getting on a bus. Not going to happen. Each unit has it’s place in the universe. IMO
Hello, I also have a WM1Z and intend to keep it but my issue now is battery draining quite fast and lasting very few hours. Anyone knows if battery can be replaced? Thanks

I never consider to bring DMP-Z1 outside, even to the office, else my colleague may think I am nuts. I will continue to use WM1Z outside or at the office, as it is already very good, no need to look for alternative until it become end of life.
Finally, the new Sony DAP will arrive the 31th of March in France. I have the new Technics EAH A800, and it's amazing. Far better than Sony XM3, less boomy and with incredible trebbles, and very good mids. Every song is naturel, smooth. On my old ZX-100 it sounds very good with no equalisation on LDAC. The Sony ZX-100 have enough power to drive it when you plug it.

Has anyone heard anything about the US release? Will it be on the 25th like the rest of the world now appears to be? Any info on the availability of the different models?
