SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2

Huge disappointment seeing it running Android, but I guess that's probably all DAPs' future in a couple years.

I have to say MDR-Z1R paired with WM1Z was pretty mediocre at best. Maybe Sony should update their headphone line ASAP as well.
It was disastrous matching MDRZ1R with WM1Z, even with the modded firmware.

Hello, I also have a WM1Z and intend to keep it but my issue now is battery draining quite fast and lasting very few hours. Anyone knows if battery can be replaced? Thanks
Hi, Music Sanctuary has the Ultimate K mod where they change the caps, the wires and the battery. They even put a bigger battery inside the dap. You can ask if they can just replace the battery for you. The only thing is that you need to send the dap there. I had the Sony WM1Z with the Ultimate K mod and it sounds superior to WM1Z without the mod

Instead of updating the MDR-Z1R they should replace the crappy silver plated copper cable with a pure copper or silver one.
They have, it's made by Sony using Kimber Cable. $250 and done. My getitng a WM1AMK2 will depend on how well it pairs with the MDR-Z1R and Kimber cable. I already know it'll pair perfectly with the IER-Z1R, but it will first have to sound better than the R2R HiBy RS6 (which pairs perfectly with both Sonys).

Nayparm in UK does modds and battery replacements including a double capacity battery

Not to me, that pairing sound fine but the MDR do sound better with the TA

as this followed my post - was this "casting aspersions" line on a discussion forum site chucked at me.....or just on free speech in general
You're free, within the rules of head-fi, to say whatever you like. Likewise, someone else is free to say whatever they like. See how "free speech" works? It doesn't mean freedom from an opposing view.

As far as I won't stay at a place and listen to the set statically, DMP-Z1-like is never an option, which Ive tried the demo and WM1Z was the option I only used.
The MDR-Z1R of mine was sold long time ago and I have tried DX220 as well but not really a good match.
On the contrary, IER-Z1R is a perfect match to WM1Z

I don’t have the money for the current players due my home gym sucking the funds, so I guess I will never get one as I am not buying the new model ever.

So the new huge FTCAP3 used on the piwer supply for the S-master, replaces the Bag-like Supercap found on WM1A/Z v1.00, zx2, zxqpp zx300 zx507 and DMP-Z1?

It's a large solid high polymer capacitor, and not one of the FTCAP3s.
