In terms of sound, streaming, UI. Would you guys get the wm1am2 or shanling m6 ultra?
A few weeks ago my friend also faced this issue (3.5mm did not work), and it was brought to the service center but after a day (the day we brought it was Sunday so the technician did not go to work), it worked normally when the technician tested and we do not know why.No definately i did not.
In terms of Sound i would choose the WM1AM2In terms of sound, streaming, UI. Would you guys get the wm1am2 or shanling m6 ultra?
But it doesn't break anything. It will use the 4.4mm then.No definately i did not.
@m4aone1Did you try high gain switch ?
For what it counts , I prefer the wm1zm2 to the shanling m9In terms of sound, streaming, UI. Would you guys get the wm1am2 or shanling m6 ultra?
Yes i tried. in case i just did factory reset but the result has not changed. I'm hearing a small microphonic noise while i'm plug in the jack but still no sound.Did you try high gain switch ?
Thanks, none of those worked. I just did the factory reset. I think i'm going to keep and wait somehow an update or something to trigger the jack maybe. But it doesn't break anything. It will use the 4.4mm then.
Factory Reset didn't help either i assume right?
Or shutting down, waiting a few seconds and start up again?
If really nothing helps, i would say its a job for the service. But as its a brand new device, thats very very strange. I am pretty sure they test every single Walkman before shipping, so the 3.5mm did work at some point.
Try as much as possible before sending it to the service
Nobody needs 3.5mm anyway xDThanks, none of those worked. I just did the factory reset. I think i'm going to keep and wait somehow an update or something to trigger the jack maybe.
It is not possible to get service in here, i believe the product itself is not available in this region. So either i'll keep and use only 4.4 or find a way to send it back to Japan and start a return process.
return of course if not working properly on arrivalThanks, none of those worked. I just did the factory reset. I think i'm going to keep and wait somehow an update or something to trigger the jack maybe.

uh, have u tried another 3.5mm cable? Thanks, none of those worked. I just did the factory reset. I think i'm going to keep and wait somehow an update or something to trigger the jack maybe.

There is a sensor on the 4.4 socket that will sense when a 4.4 is plugged in, and operate the output relay. Thanks, none of those worked. I just did the factory reset. I think i'm going to keep and wait somehow an update or something to trigger the jack maybe.

Upsampling is lossless.
The TA-ZH1ES for example always does 8x upscaling, you even can't disable it.
I do understand that, but i am 100% sure that even though i would also prefer that, it is not an disadvantage in terms of sonic performs. It is a waste of electricity though but i think everyone can use that feature with piece of mind enjoying the full sound qualityI see your point and the technical/math aspects are complicated (and over my head) especially when you consider filters, etc. Not wanting to extend the disagreement, let's just say I would prefer bit-perfect playback at the native sample rate over SRC. "Lossless" may not have been the right word to use.
