It makes so much more sense to just amplify the digital input signal instead of converting it to analog.

Its an so simple yet so effective solution.

If audiophiles were less purist, we wouldn't have analog amps anymore, pretty sure.

Hello all,

I've just got a brand new NW-WM1AM2 from Japan with MDR-1ZR and tried to both 3.5mm cable and balanced cable on it. There is no sound output from 3.5mm output. I tried another one *Sennheiser IE 600* there is no sound either from 3.5mm jack.

I am a newbie so i dont know i am doing something wrond. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Does 4.4mm work? All Updates installed?

If the answer is yes to both, it sounds like the 3.5mm port is dead. It should work out of the box by just plugging something in

Very possible, I've noticed a big clarity jump when going into the wm1a, along with detail retrieval, just seems like it doesn't cut corners like analog in a sense, nothing is missing

Yeah, 4.4mm is working. I did not any update manually. but did the android update when open the device at the first time.

If the port is dead, thats bad because i use proxy to buy from Japan so it will be impossible to claim service.

if there's no way to fix the 3.5mm through warranty I'm pretty sure you can send it to npaudio to get the 3.5 fixed, but that is a shame to hear that you got a faulty one.

r2r are definitely good dacs, no doubt about it. why do you dislike them? what r2r devices did you try?

I returned 2 of them , it s a trend of late , detail wise they lag . A lot sometimes

Just in case............have you by any chance had BOTH outputs plugged with something?
