the new Walkmans do not do Wifi6. a bit disappointed with this given the price.
has a max theorectical rate of 433mbps but likely will never reach it.

I think Wi-Fi 5 is plenty enough.

Ok, but surprised if Sony didn't secure enough components (going on previous sales of first gen, ZX507 etc) before announcing the release of a new product.
Can't imagine at £3,400 or even £1,300 they are big sellers.

the SOC part of the Walkman is not Sony manufacture. there are many competitors grabbing the same stuff globally, made worse by the pandemic and trade war.
ZX507 was before the pandemic.
the situation is also reflected in Sony PS5.

Japan is by far the largest and most profitable market for Sony's premium audio products, bigger than the rest of the world combined. That is and always has been their focus, so it's no surprise the player is only starting to trickle into western markets now. Expect the pace to be slow for several months yet, as Japan is still priority.

According to the headlines of Article, the WM1AM2 seems to be selling very well or sold out. Can’t tell exactly based on Japanese to English translation.

Japanese twitter is really full of messages on the WM1AM2 if you search the latest posts.
