I have now updated to MrWalkmans FE firmware. While the original is pretty detailed I found it a tad thin and harsh (I mainly listen to vinyl). I have had many of the well regarded CD players over the years including the various Linn offerings. My favourites though to which I returned were the B&O and Quad models with the Philips TDA1541A-S1 DAC. Old tech maybe but for me a less digital inflicted sound. The FE firmware gets closers to that more natural tone so it is a must do update. Loaded with no issues. Very much appreciated indeed.

Next I need to change the player region. Which code gives BT equalizer (for tweaking speakers in my kitchen) as well as keeping the full volume and playlist/delete file functions? Is there a link to which region code has what features and how to change the region?

Blue: None. The problem is it doesn't lock the function UIs. Any adjustment makes no effects.
Purple: Under the bluetooth setting, there's a checkbox for "Enhanced mode". Not sure if it's correct to uncheck that.
Red: You can browse around and delete a file/folder/playlist by clicking the three-dot (...) button on the right of its row and selecting "delete".

Thanks for the tips. BTW I just learned that enabling the clearaudio+ makes the sound somewhat better. Are you guys leaving it enabled all the time?

I always play source direct but use what sounds best to you

I found that SOURCE DIRECT sounds the best for the high bitrates MP3 & AAC and for lossless formats. So clearaudio+ disables all the time for me.
