I wonder if A55 can drives Tin Audio P1? Does 35mw+35mw mean 35mw per side(left and right)?
Aye, AFAIK it means 35mW per channel into 16 ohms. Sensitivity is a little low on those IEM so might be cutting it close, but going by JDS labs SPL Chart could be just in range for at least semi-decent headroom, though I don't fully understand this stuff (see this post for chart link & explanation https://blog.jdslabs.com/2015/06/power-is-volume/ )

Yes. It is more than sufficient. The Tin Audio P1 requires about 3mW for 100 dB SPL.I wonder if A55 can drives Tin Audio P1? Does 35mw+35mw mean 35mw per side(left and right)?

Guys, Im just about to receive a Nw-55, found it cheap on a not so popular website here in Australia (Tobydeals.com.au), for around 250 aud.
From what i can hear most of you transfer files straight from the computer to the device.
Will it recognise my 400gb microsd files if i transfer my music directly from the computer first, then insert it on the Dap? Sorry if the question sounds silly, just don't feel like doing the same long process twice if i dont need to.

Everything needs to be inside a folder labeled MUSIC in the card's root directory (it can have subfolders but I am not sure how many levels). There is an option to format your card in the DAP settings which will erase everything and set up the proper file structure. I think you can also just create the folder on your PC or whatever, but I have never tested it out.

I know it may sound like an outdated question, like when we were members of this community ten years ago (time indeed flies), but here we go anyway.
What if the A-55 can be used merely as source, line out.
IF it can, how would that possible and with what Amp-dac?
Im not sure how the cable and the Sony own operating system would play out, for example, with one of the portable fiio devices?

Yes. You can lineout A55 through charge port for desktop amp or portable amp. But A55 can't be used as source for dac/amp. If you want to use Dap as source for dac/amp, keep an eye to some Daps have coaxial out port (Hidizs AP100, Xduoo X20...)
Im using this cable for desktop amp:
You can buy this cable for portable amp: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1ft-30cm-L...kman-NWZ-A27-A26-A25-A17-A15-A10/301950187820

Thanks for the input, so it can't be used solely as a source ( source A55 > dedicated amp-dac > earphones).
I may got a bit rusty on the language,
but having a line out (zeros and ones) from the A55 to an external amp-dac isn't the same as basically being just source then leaving the "dac-amp" (by passing the A55's dac and amp) doing the rest of the job? you really did a thorough diligent research, congrats!

There is no DAC in the Sony players. No need to bypass anything. Use either the HO or buy the Fiio cable and use it with an amp. Either way, sound is the same.

Yes, it can. You need the WMC-NWH10 cable. However, it only decodes the music files and sends PCM, DSD or DoP through that cable. You can't tweak the EQ of the digital output on it.Thanks for the input, so it can't be used solely as a source ( source A55 > dedicated amp-dac > earphones).

P/S: It doesn't work with some portable dac/amps which receive data and power by the same USB connector.

This must be pretty hit+miss, or my WMC 10 cable is bad. Tried several different + one of which I know worked with A17 but no luck.

True, it's hit & miss. Sony doesn't issue any clear technical guides/limits either for the source (walkman) or for the DACs to work with the NWH10 cables. Trying several combinations, I got my own observation of that my post-script.This must be pretty hit+miss, or my WMC 10 cable is bad.
