Is the remote in the picture sold separately?  If so, does anyone know where to get one?  Or is it a brand new item?

Thanks.

It would be sold separately, I know Fiio came out with one as well to control bluetooth playback on the X7.

There is the Sony BRH10 bluetooth remote but from what I understand it only works with android based bluetooth devices like Sony tablets.  Since Sony wants to get away from android it could be a new remote that will work with Sony's portable OS devices.

So I would guess based on previous history it will be about $450.00 and $550.00 CAN respectively.  Not sure I would want to pay that much for this DAP if pricing holds considering my A17 was only $279.00 with 64 GB of internal memory.  Especially if the internal components are the same as the previous model. I hope they will at least put the higher quality capacitors found in the ZX100 into this one to up the power output a little and improve the sound quality.

Explain to me how a difference of 16 GB of internal memory justifies a $100.00 price difference?  Your talking about a couple of bucks difference here between a 16 GB and 32 GB storage chip.  Way to gouge your customers Sony, that's like a 98% percent profit margin on the $100.00 difference.  I would hate to see how much they would want for an A37 with 64 GB on memory.

Not sure the quality of the earbuds, but the $100 covers that as as well.  So you get memory+ color matching earbuds (quality unknown as of now)

Yeah I missed the HN in the A36 stock number indicating the included noise canceling earbuds.  Still to me a Sony only noise canceling option is to limiting as I don't really like most Sony headphones and therefore would not buy an HN model.

If the A30 can output DSD and the Mojo can recognize it, that would make for a killer little combo!

Except they will probably continue to require that stupid horrid no good evil whale of an OTG adapter cable!

Maybe we can hire a hypnotist to convince Sony that USB type C is their proprietary tech... it worked with microSD cards

One-piece cables for Mojo from China cost only 25 bucks (160 RMB) a pop

That is correct, Sony no longer wants to make android based DAP's so the ZX2 will stop being sold once the current market supply runs out. Then the WM-1A will officially take its place.

The New DAPs are Android-based (though there's no literature stating what version).

No actually it has been confirmed by actual users at IFA that they are Sony's own OS not android.  The claims on some Sony web sites were incorrect, if Sony had gone android the DAP's would have wifi and streaming audio and they don't have either.

I thought it was one model MH1 was android and the other was walkman, but maybe I misread on that thread.

I hope its the cheaper one because Walkman OS is by far best DAP interface I have used. Really like A30's combo of touchscreen and buttons as well.

Oh those are a big improvement, thanks! Hopefully unlike A10, A30 can control OTG volume for those of us w/ dac/amps that have no volume adjustment.

That was the initial speculation but it has now been confirmed that even the $3200.00 1Z has the Sony OS and thus no wifi and streaming audio.  I shake my head at people considering the 1Z consider it is missing modern features like wifi and streaming audio.

My ZX2 look and feel outdated, i would trade my ZX2 for a 1Z not because it's newer but because i know the ZX2 won't get any updates.

Ah, that's a bummer for the Android using Sony fans- I was thinking it would be like how iBasso is splitting the difference with their upcoming dx120 and dx200, one will be full android connectivity the other will be more basic. Fortunately there's no shortage of Android DAP! Personally am glad there are alternatives though- don't like using Android/iOS, don't wifi or stream on DAP.

Other than OTG volume master I hope the A30 also has improved output power over predecessor like MH1, though seems doubtful, because Sony

It seems all the other DAP makers understand android and wifi are the future and continue moving forward.  Sony on the other hand wants to go backward and try to convince customers they should go with them. Not gonna happen Sony!!

is there a contact to Sony's Walkman team to request an option to be included in future firmware updates?, like I said, I've been begging them since last year to add the 'Trash Bin' to the latest Walkman or the current ones with a firmware, but I see myself still begging because it's not included in the A30, I've tried everywhere to contact them, but if someone knows exactly who to speak to I'd love the contact info please.
