Here're two screenshots of the A30, on showing the playback screen the way I prefer it the other being the "about" screen

And here it is: Walkman One for NW-A30Series

The only thing is that NFC isn't working. I don't own the A30 myself, but if I'll do in the future, I might be able to do something about it.

In any case, I don't see it as a dealbreaker.

Hi, I have the nwa35 but I guess this could apply to the 45 & 55 as well. My headphones are Sennheiser HD 595, not sure if they’re 50 or 120 ohms. After a bit of tweaking on the player turning on the DC phase and some eq it sounds good, but then I thought I’d try it though the monitor side of my pioneer cd recorder with the headphones plugged into that. I have to say it sounds fuller like this. Not sure if this because the Sennheisers are better suited to the output of the Pioneer. I’m in Europe by the way & I keep reading about the EU volume cap. The player is loud enough for me but I’m wondering if removing it will give me the fullness that the output of the Pioneer does. In other words does the cap reduce the output voltage of the player.

Yes, check out this video. This guy show how it changes based on the region difference:

Do you think this will restore the the bass, like I said the volume is fine just need to eq through the Sennheisers. With my iems that came with my a845 I can leave the eq flat as I can when plugged into into the cd recorder.

It's a very easy procedure (and reversible) so just go ahead and test it. You can either just change the region with the region tool or (my preference) install mr walkman's modified firmware - it makes the A30 SOO much better (but read the caveats - you win a lot, but lose a few things)

I just checked my A30 - it's made in Oct 2016, so now 7 years old. Still have the best battery life and UX of all the DAPs I have (Hiby R3 Saber, Pioneer XDP-30R) With the Mr Walkman firmware it's still going very strong. UX is obviously the same as on the A50, battery life might still be slightly better (slower CPU?)

This is my go-to travel DAP, it lives in my travel pouch
