Complete newbie to the headphone world. Always had my standard white ipod earphones but i want to get into it. I have looked and looked for my first pair of headphones and sony MDR-XB1000 appeal. Great bass i heard which i mostly want but i want to know if they will be capable of playing rock to a good standard?
Already have picked a good amp suggested to me the Bellari HA540 and I am waiting to order both. I just want my first set of headphones to be a good pick! Does anyone have any first hand experience with these? I would appreciate some help.
Thanks in advance.

Check the Fischer Audio FA003's And Shure SRH840's, look up the review's on all and see what's best.

I did'nt see a review on the 1000's You mentioned but that does'nt mean there's anything wrong either, compare between the 2 pr's You mentioned, seem's like Your more comfortable with XB series. If You had a listen to either You'll be the best judge for Yourself.

Why not start with the cheaper XB models, like mentioned before? if you like the sound signature, take the next step...

The Bellari is a GREAT amp for the XB1000. I have both. IMO, the XB1000 is too slow for rock music. The XB1000 has a large soundstage. It doesn't have in your face bass like the XB700. The bass is refined.

Here's my writeup on the two. Enjoy!
