Has anyone tried their Z1R with either the Topping DX7 Pro or iFi iDSD Neo?
I asked about a portable option recently but some of the pricing is the same as desktops, these are small enough to be transportable between rooms and sounded good when I tried then with my MDR-Z1R.

I don't have iFi iDSD Neo, but do have iDSD Diablo, bundled with Raspberry Pi as Roon bridge and a battery, it's my in house mobile audio station Z1R sounds great with it, even better than my full desktop (Topping D90/A90) setup to my ears.Has anyone tried their Z1R with either the Topping DX7 Pro or iFi iDSD Neo?

The Signature and Diablo prices were the ones that made me consider the NEO. I was considering other features of the NEO too to help justify the purchase like Bluetooth (for movies) but portable has other advantages. Picking up hugo2 today! Have wanted one since 2014 when I borrowed original Hugo! Pairing with IER Z1R is so awesome, looking forward to joining the Hugo2/Z1R club
Why do I suddenly feel like I need one of those???it's my in house mobile audio station
From what I hear with the IER they sound good with anything that is able to feed them adequately, I have tried them with the Hiby R3 Pro Saber, with the Shanling M6, with the Questyle QP2R, with the iBasso DX220 Max and with the LP W1 and I must say that among all ... (with the exception of the Max) what struck me most is the W1. Not so much for the full-bodied and clean bass they showed with all the daps (also because it is a well known feature of the IER) but for the treble that are very precise and unlike other players very controlled and deep at the same time. If we then consider the price of the W1, the comparison becomes impossible with the others. For those who want a dac that is simple to use with a PC or a smartphone, for me the W1 is ideal for not SQ compromising.Feel free to share more of your opinion on the SQ

I have gotten fantastic mileage out of my mojo since summer 2017 and I will be keeping that ... I am hoping the Hugo2 keeps me happy for next 5 years and then I will see where the market has gotten to ... I def love Sony and love Chord. So will likely start there with whatever new purchases I make ...as you said their two house sounds compliment eachother perfectly!

ha! Yeah 2010-2015 I was trying all sorts of stuff but HD650 and old Sony XBA Z5 were last hps i bought in 2015 before getting the Z1R 5.5 years later .. I guess I was just listening to music finally. Z1R really looks to continue this trend but if Sony bring out a new flagship hp or iem I will probably be tempted! As an "true" audiophile, you might move on to new stuff soon

hey all
two days with the hugo2 and overall I am really thrilled with the Z1R combo. I do find that in order to get the best out of each recording and not have them sounding a bit distant you need to dial in the filter and I leave xphd on minimum always as I find it brings the instruments into the center of the mix more , akin to the mojo. So yeah more dialing necessary but luckily i mostly listen to albums all the way through but could imagine that if you were playlisting that this could be a bit distracting etc vs the simple functionality of the Mojo. But man once you dial it in ... even on the red filter for the mojo sound...the added spatial depth is pretty outstanding. You can hear so damn deep into the mix and the dynamics of sounds especially when sounds are panning left right in the mix !
Sofar I am finding the combo really shines with modern mixes vs older ones. Esp well produced electro e.g. Ela Minus, Rone, AIR, VOK etc

Listening to this 96/24bit in “J” region and Walkman 1A with Midnight Plus. Stock 4.4mm cable. Just totally amazing!
