Once you experienced the top its just shopping to later sale for a loss.

I do not agree. All devices have their own sound signature.

If you ate soup, then why do you eat something else? The soup has enough nutrition and ingredients for you to live.

I was at the Sony shop in Sapporo a few days ago they had plenty of stock of them.
I had a good listen to them and liked them but have to admit the mids didn’t blow me away.
Bass and treble were really good and it is a very accurate and detailed sounding iem with good separation and soundstage. Mids were still pretty good but at the money I wanted more from them.
It was paired with the Sony NW-WM1Z DAP loaded with random Flac files.

If compare M9 vs Z1R then yes, I agree that M9 (I have it too) has an even more intimate/close mids. But there the general nature of the sound is very close - "in the face". I did not hear a closer sound yet. But given that the Z1R's sound stage is much larger, the mids here is excellent too.

Z1R with M9 mids... That would be epic!

I think you mean like a hearty, beef & vegetable stew? There are some pretty terrible and non-nutritious/low nutrient value soups out there that you'd definitely die of malnutrition from if that's all you ate.

You need to up your soup and stew game before you go making commments like that.

In the iem world, Eleveryone keeps saying xyz iem is my "end game" only to show up in a different thread gushing about some other iem in a few months.

I think we've lost the meaning of the word end game =P
This kills me. You see it all over head-fi all the time, but I'd agree that those little IEMs seem to get more of it. I wonder on a forum like this, which is gear focused vs. music focused, whether "end game" has ever really had the real meaning? Right here, it pretty much means "these sound great. I'll listen to them while I look for something else that sounds great too".

I've been lurking and posting on these forums since ~2006 and it's always been the same story. But that's all good, the comsumerism drives the hobby, which causes it to evolve and have new things to try. I've certainly continued to buy new gear and enjoy my upgrades.
