Can understand why Sony went with the recessed connector and two cables are included in the box. Many (albeit smaller) brands charging thousands more only include one cable.

The answer was posted earlier in the thread: stay with stock, Plussound IER-Z1R connectors (link) or E4UA converters (link). Never read of anyone having an issue and of course Plussound and E4UA make custom connectors for many other brands and not only Sony

The aliexpress converters might be a lot 'cheaper', but see above photos

yeah, you already spent that much on the Z1R, no point saving a few bucks and damaging your IEMs.

i mean you can buy them for 250 dollars on ebay :-D or we hope they write us and we get them for around 80 dollars + shipping.

Ialways wanted the dunu blanche since @nv8000 told about it but it was discontinued sadly. Now @gLer mentions PW audio 1950s cable.
Bith comanies dunu and PW are Chinese i think. This makes me undevided if china will ship weapons to putin 8 will boycott china syuff. Only options are then lavei or plussound

I have the lower end STR7-SE cable from the same maker. it sounds good. the BSEP was specially made for the Z1R, and it's new. so, I thought I would try it.

That stock cable is excellent but those mmcx connectors are fragile. Don't be a Guinea pig like me and lose your Z1R, stick with stock or the cables specifically discussed here that work. Too great a risk, trust me

Yeah. Brise Audio's cheapest cables aren't cheap either. Then there are taxes on the cables when they arrive.
