SONY IER-Z1R

Hi guys, I got my pair about two weeks ago. So happy with them, but have a couple of questions here.
1) Using them with WM1A + orilolus ba300s, the combo is amazing, but I can't use it as a portable solution, a sandwich from amp+dap is so uncomfortable. S0 I think about selling/changing it to the LPGT or with Cayin n6 mk2 with r01. Maybe anyone here who has/had this dap and could compare it with sony dap.
2) I've seen plenty of good words about stock cable but am just interested in how it could sound with others, for now, I've found 3 options: BriseAudio Asuha, PW Loki, Norne Audio Silvergarde sx. Or would like to hear about different products.
3) I've different ear tips(Azla Xelastec and Kotori, Mandarine, Foam, Acoustune) but stopped with my favorite Spiral Dot ++ 10. Should I try something else except FInal E? I've heard good reviews also on Monster tips with Gel.
For me the 1Z is plenty fine on it’s own without any need for extra amplification.

The stock cable is fine. The Dunu Blanche silver cable makes a slight difference to the better for me, but I mostly got it for the swappable tips.

The Xelastec don’t work for me with the Z1R as the weight quickly deforms them (they work great on the XM3). My preferred tips are the Final E

I compared 1Z with 1A with/without orioulus and I find that extra amplification and coloration very suitable for 1ZR :frowning2:
Yea I ordered Final E and also Monster Super Tips, going to share my thoughts about it here

Hi, Do everyone have the same problem with me ? I have tried the other cable with my Z1r then i want to pull it out to roll back to the stock cable. Unluckily, it's very tight with my Z1r socket, i can't remove it :frowning2:. Could anyone give me some advice? Thanks for your help.
Best wishes !

Yes most third party cables including the Sony Kimber can be very hard to remove

Did you have the solution for this issue? I have seen that you're also using the third party cable. Thanks in advance

I saw a plastic tool for disconnecting mmcx from an iem On MTMtaudio. But I guess you could do it with small pliers with adding rubber or some soft material and of course capable hands :)

Yes, insanely tight. That’s why I never ever roll cables.

This is the solution, MMCX tool that you can get from mtmtaudio.com ::

If you've spent $1.7k on the IER-Z1R, you deserve the $10 MMCX tool!!

Wao, i saw it yet but i don't think it works well with Sony Z1r because the mmcx of Z1r is recessed compare to the mmcx OG. Many thanks 🙏

I know that some are using it but it is not ideal due to the recessed connector on the iem so the gap is inside the connector. I have switched cables 3 times and has each time managed to pull it out eventually but now with the Dunu Blanche with swappable tips I don’t expect to ever swap cable again

Yeah, i also see the same problem. The mmcx of Z1r is recessed connector compare to the OG mmcx. So i want to make sure before order it because it take more 3 week shipping time from MTMTaudio.

I've seen your post. I've already ordered the tool haha. Hope it coming soon. I'm pairing with the Effect Audio cable. There any problem? I will be very grateful if you can help me, I will attach the image below. Very appreciate.
