Sony budget earphone discussion thread (MH750, MH755, MH1C, EX300, etc)

What would be good tips for the mh1c? I love the sound but because of the weight of the cable they keep falling out if my ears

I think the included tips are very good for the mh1/c and keeps them in well. For me much better than other tips. The trick is to wear them over ear instead of straight down. I feel the flat springy cable is the culprit.

I'm having MDR-EX300 currently and I was thinking of getting another earphones for use during outdoor because the MDR-EX300's wires are kind of fragile to me.
Was hesitating between MH755, MH1C and MDR-PQ4. Does anyone hear the MDR-PQ4 before? It is kind of hard to look up for proper reviews online for this particular one.

I haven't tried the other sonys, but MH755 may not be the best option for outdoor use cause:
1) It has very short microphonic cable. U will need an extension cable especially on the go, or MMCX mod/recable option.
2) It has below average isolation.

Oh, I will cancel out MH755 then. That pretty much convince me from choosing it. I'm studying away from home too so recabling is not an option for me.
Thanks!

@Johnny2R I have the Inairs Air1 and they fit fine. They certainly do enhance the bass but to the slight detriment of the other frequencies. There is a bit of a masking effect as with all foam tips. If you’re a big bass head then it’s more than likely a worthwhile trade off as they do sound fantastic with electronic music. It did feel like my brain was starting to melt after about 15 minutes though. And the rock and classical I listen to did not sound nearly as good as when the stock tips were used.

I do sometimes miss that richness of bass coming from a dark sounding pair of cans. I wonder if a hybrid tip would retain the clarity of the mids and highs whilst providing a little of that richness. Not that these are a thin sounding pair of iem’s but swapping between gear can have strange effects!

I was looking at the Symbio hybrid tips as they seem to have a good rep.

To me the 755 are well worth the couple minutes and € to recable them as well, MMCX or not.

Over the years I wasted ...loads of money on IEMs and cans that don't sound nearly as natural and coherent or perform in the same tonal league but cost me almost 100 times as much.
That comment sounds like KZ's. The MH755 is definitely better than 95% of them.

Did a spring cleanup, found the box of my old Xperia phone, sitting on the shelf for several years...

Inside containing a pair of endgame IEMs, LOL

Wow. I hate to think how many of those 750s and 755s were thrown in the trash over the years....unopened.

Thanks for the link, I just bought a pair from there and if anybody is interested the guy currently has a coupon which makes the price US $2.50 (including shipping).

Code isn't working for me...

Edit: messaged the seller. He/she stated that there are no coupon codes. Guess you got lucky.

First impression - They do sound quite nice on first listen.

The 4-pole 3.5mm connector should work OK on DAPs right? Hoping the extra ring (as in TRRS) would not cause a short or something

Anyone compare the mh755/mh750 to the einsear t2?

No comparison! The mh755 blows them away.

What about in comparison to something like the sennhiser cx180 or some other reputable brand, (philips jvc etc)
