Thanks, unless the demo are made super big, i'm sure they won't fit, I will probably go for it, since if they can't make the mold, I will get a refund.

Does anyone know which shop is appointed for JE.

I finally tried the MH2 at CWB Sony store, I came out very disappointing, don't get me wrong, it's the actual earpieces, it seems too big for my ears, I can't even get half the ear piece in, although I do admit the SQ is the best I heard from a IEM, even though it doesn't fit in, you can clearly tell the SQ, I tried the listening, and also had the Monitor one out to try, but didn't try the monitor, knowing the fit isn't right.

The staff say he wouldn't suggest me to get the JE, although custom made, you can only make if so so small, and to fit the BA and DD in, it will still be too big, he did say, that if the molding process doesn't work out, I can get a full refund, although they will probably cancel the molding once the see it not going to work.

I have tried they M9, although good, and very comfortable, the SQ just doesn't come close to the JE, just waiting to try the Z1R, but going by the size, it does seem quite big, then it leaves me to consider the Z1R after trying, or the M9, although I will try not buy the M9, going by the price, and made in Thailand, I'd rather just stick with my EX600, EX800, EX1000 and the Xelento.

Anyway, thank nanholic for all the information.

You can certainly make the JE's since the DD doesn't have to fit inside your ear. I have fairly large ears, and my JE's still have the 13mm drivers 90% of the way outside the actual ear enclosure because that's the ideal placement of those drivers for my ears. It will look comically large and I found that mine doesn't fit well in either the official leather case or the Van Nuys CIEM holder, so I'm still searching for a good travel solution.

Sounds amazing, though. Incredibly musical, if not particularly resolving.

Also, seconding Nanaholic's recommendation, if you like them I'd make the appointment first or talk with the Sony appointed engineer. I made mine at Jaben HK and while I really like Derek's current generation of store clerks, they're not experts at ordering Sony Just Ear's any more than most of us here.

Thanks, I know the 13mm Drive is on the outside, apparently when I had the JE on, its like whole of the ear piece is out of my ears there is probably 5mm-8mm gap between my ears and ear piece, with just the tip of the ear piece holding it in my ears canel preventing it from falling off, the ear piece doesn't even touch the inside my concha.

I agree, the best SQ I've heard.

It's a shame, the stock balance cable made for the JE has been discontinued.

That sounds normal to me actually. The demo units shells are absolutely no indication of the actual finished shells, if you hold a finished pair of JE besides the demo units the shape is actually very different. When I did my tuning session the demo unit is really just held in place by the ear tips.

Add pics for comparison.

As you can see, my finished JE's tip is vastly shorter than the demo unit, and the demo unit is very flat and compact with almost no "body" to fit into the concha of the ear. So I wouldn't worry about the fit from the demo, instead go to the appointed audiotologist and get them to measure your ears as JE has a special tool to measure the fit of the phone for optimial sound reproduction as it takes into consideration of the distance of the sound tube in respect to the placement of the DD, so you really should get them to check your ears rather than listen to the Sony floor staff, whom is probably just covering his ass and is on the cautious side of things.

Once I return from my trip to Japan, I will check this out, have my ears measured, is it normal that the BA can be placed anywhere with in the ear piece, and is not positioned in the same area with both L and R.

Still in waiting for the JustEar, but I am a bit worry about can it be done after a dude in HK reported he was been told by Sony their engineer in Japan failed to make his JustEar during to the ears size or shape...(he had the molds made but still got this result after 2 months of waiting), just hope that is not happen on me.

The waiting time is about 2-4 months, if you need adjusting, you get a one of free of charge for doing this, according to Sony Centre, so if you got your from somewhere else, you have to ask them.

How to get one pair in the US?

There isn't a way. The only places you can order them right now is Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The person making the impressions must be a Sony certified hearing specialist and the earmold making process is much more involved than the average CIEM. Basically you need to travel to one of these areas and make the appointment well in advance.

That said, if you're looking for a musical hybrid very roughly in line with the JE's, the Fostex/Fitear TE100/200 are reasonable substitutes. Both the TE200 and Fitear Air2 are very high on my list of planned IEM purchases.

Yep, there are like 5 stores in Korea that’ll take orders for them. I think you’re out of luck if you’re outside Seoul though.

Korea isn't the only countries selling them.

Of course not! Just confirming an earlier post saying that Sony is taking MH2 orders in Korea as well.

Edit: On a side note, could you imagine the uproar if Sony straight up went “screw you guys, we’re only selling the JustEar in South Korea”? :joy:

Hey guys! During my most recent trip to Japan, I visited Osaka's Sony store, where I got to try the Sony Just Ear XJE-MH/WM1. Here's an excerpt of my impressions from my e-earphone article on TheHeadphoneList.com. Enjoy! :D

Sony Just Ear XJE-MH/WM1

The WM1 – like all Just Ear models – is a 1+1 hybrid. Immediately, it impresses in tonal balance and transparency. It carries a lightly warm, uncoloured, natural tone ideal for a studio scenario – whether mixing or mastering. This is further bolstered by extension on both ends, allowing resolution and definition to remain high despite average transient attack.

There’s healthy articulation from the lower-treble – 6-7kHz perhaps – but the upper-treble remains wisely laid-back. Full authority is maintained by way of extension. Instruments are neither veiled, nor dulled, nor congested. Each track is given space for analysis, but not so much so that tonal accuracy is lost. This is also the result of withdrawn upper-mids.

Melody is neutrally positioned, similar to another mastering maestro – JHAudio’s Layla. But like the KL-REF, audiophiles who prefer more vibrant vocals may find this presentation unexciting. The bass is clearly dynamically-driven. It’s a touch above neutral, but remains well-balanced against the rest of the range, and adds just enough harmonic content to bind everything together without excessive warmth. Extension is impressive, but sub-bass content is placed closer to neutral.

Hip-hop tracks like Eminem’s Lucky You won’t ever be skull-rattlingly visceral, but this was done – again – to maintain balance with the rest of the ensemble. This is the perfect amount of bass for my preferences for mixing and mastering. And, despite the slight laid-backed-ness of the sub-bass, linearity and coherence are both left perfectly intact. The bass performs like a singular unit with excellent definition – rumble just happens to be placed a touch behind in the mix.

Spatially, coherence is its most impressive aspect. Everything sounds evenly arranged and balanced with zero awkward imaging. But, in terms of headroom and size, it’s not far above average for a flagship. FAudio’s Major and the Layla both expand further, but each with their own set of compromises. At the end of the day, the WM1 is an excellent reference piece for professional work, which I hope will find its way towards more international waters within the near future.
