Songs that make your headphone WOOOOOW!!!

Why Elise isn't insanely famous yet is a mystery to me. By the way, the guy on the keys here is an accomplished musician in his own right.

In a similar vein, I see your Elise Trouw and raise you a Morgan James. Both Scary Pockets and Post Modern Jukebox are making great music. This old school setup with Morgan is a live, single take recording and I love how it sounds exactly how the room is laid out. That kind of distanced drum kit, prominent piano in left channel, Morgan's vocals *right there*, and the backup vocals slightly off-center and to the right. Perfection!

Not sure if WOOOOOW covers this, but there are times when a rig can be too resolving, where certain songs lead me to ARRRGGH. In my case, it happens to be a few times after the bridge in...

...when the percussion mimics the clicky notification sound for Slack, which I use for chatting. It's starting to irritate me.

Sade - No Ordinary Love on HD600, just wow!!

On lots of things, in fact. The production and sound quality on Sade's albums are fantastic.

edit: one of my favorites. that sax intro has such good tone. when the rest of the band fills in around 2:30, it feels like a warm summer rain.
