Ive been looking at several types of headphones to game on, but i want them to be solid all around, not just games. Mic is not important to me.
At first i was looking at the logitech g930 which has gotten great reviews, but later people started convincing me to go for "regular" headphones for better sound, and since then ive gotten recommendations for everything from the Sennheiser HD598 to Astro A40 and AD700 headphones.
Also people have been talking about amps and sound cards as a complement to get the most out of them. This is something im willing to buy, but im not sure exactly when they are needed and to which headphones.
My main question is, can you get gaming directional/surround sound on 2.0 headphones, or should i stick with the gaming 5.1 or 7.1 variaty? Surround is important, but at the same time, if there is a big difference in sound quality, i might go with a 2.0 stereo set.
any help would be appriciated!
