working now!... tried quickly Disney+ Atmos content and it s streaming ok on the A16 but noticed that the LW and RW channels in atmos room were completely off? Even when tried multiple atmos movies from eARC on disney+.. need more investigation and further testing..

Hdmi version is shown as v74.50.29 on the release notes. Mine after update is showing 74.50.25.. Everything else is matching with the release notes, can someone who has updated to 2.0 verify the hdmi version for me.

Isn't Disney notorious for mixing their Atmos into discrete channels that are stuck in the location of the common speakers?

Seems as though my go to method of getting my tv to pass Atmos to the A16 over eARC instead of 5.1 or 7.1 Dolby Digital is no longer working. eARC is notoriously a pain with any device and it being in beta on A16 I’m sure isn’t helping. Back to the drawing board I guess.

Found out that needed to turn on and off the input selector and reload the room everytime eARC signal is playing off on the A16... lot of instability and compatibility issues as it is still a Beta atm...

I have not had to do that, but I obviously have seen issues with passing Atmos from my tv to the A16. Shouldn’t be surprised I guess as if you do a Google search for just about any eARC device you’re going to see tons of people having issues. As my only PRIR is from a 5.1 system not having Atmos consistently working via eARC is not currently a huge deal. I still have my streaming boxes connected directly to the A16 so I can use Atmos that way if I want. Should I ever get the chance to make an Atmos PRIR then this will be more of an actual issue for me.

I just did the upgrade to 2.00. A bit long...but without any problem except...that I tried later on to change from 16 to 24ch (settings/misc) and could not move the 24ch "notch" to green with adjust +- I must have done something wrong...

And by the way :
I don’t know how Stephen can juggle so many balls at the same time…how does he decide which enquiry to answer first, which order to fulfill first…especially considering that he is also doing some heavy marketing in China thanks to his pal Siwei Zou from “Heavenly Sound”. This marketing is bound to increase the number of enquiries, orders, repairs…One could even say that good news (orders) brings its own lot of problems…
Case in point, the A16 was already promoted twice in 5 months in China at 2 very large events :

Although I'd love to hear the results... I wouldn't think that would be an ideal place to create a PRIR.

I’m starting to think that the eARC issues I’m starting to think it might be due to the most recent firmware for my tv. Seems other CX owners have reported eARC issues with other devices after their tv updated.

Maybe I missed it, but the manual does not explain each and every field of the Input details screen.

Specifically interested in the 'Image', as this is from the output of an AppleTV 4K running Apple Music, and here, sending Atmos over MAT 2.0. When playing a lossless 2ch track, the stream is PCM and the 'decode is 2.0.0, but the 'image' remains Atmos. I assume because it's still using MAT to pass the streams.

The last three items on the left column are intriguing. Guessing that 'live' is stream bitrate, but what metric is it in?

Also, where would I go to see the actual bit-depth/bitrate of PCM streams, as I'd like to validate the 'lossless' audio rates.

Sorry to bring this up again but I think enough time has passed since there has been any type of communication from Smyth Research.

In Kickstarter update 63 dated 07-09-2020 Smyth Research has said they were shipping to backers #289. Since that date has there been anyone in the Kickstarter or Pre-orders received their order since then?.

Things have been discussed here about unfortunate delays, but I wish to pose a question.? Has the French retailer has been able to receive units for his customers from the Smyth Research supplies before Smyth Research coming back to their Kickstarter and Pre-Paid customers..? or are his customers not receiving their orders as well.

Either Smyth Research are selling ALL the A16 units at full price and ignoring past orders or just holding stock waiting for new full priced orders and ignoring past orders.

Giving assurances that all Kickstarter and Prepaid orders will be fulfilled will have little meaning unless there is movement being seen again in shipping of such orders.
