No I have not downloaded the driver I didn't know there was a driver? Thanks I'll have to look inside the dim settings have no clue there was a driver for this.
if you are connected to your windows pc through usb, windows mixer rescales everything to your selected bit rate/sample rate. you either should change it with every song or use local files with something like foobar that have exclusive access to your dac.
All dacs. It's not an issue per se, just a windows thing. It allows you to use systemwide audio adjustments like eq and virtual effects. Android also works like this.
Ok i found my audio settings in window, but i see noting to set 24/192 or any bit rate. I have never had this issue before, i have searched all audio settings and see nothing to change what sample rate its playing. Using Foobar is only if i have flac files on my hard drive right ? doesnt affect Amazon Hd music or Qobuz.
I think after listening for 3 days on this Dac, I'm going to sell it. Has good detail, but has a boring presentation to me, analog sounding, not pairing well with my tube amp. I'm going to try the Aune X8 18th anniversary edition, you can roll op-amps, thanks for all your help.
I think it's somewhat laid-back but I wouldn't say boring. Sweet analog sound and very good detail retrieval keep things engaging. So far I have D300 running in a chain with FX Tube 03 (updated tubes, opamps) preamp tone control and Liquid Spark amp.
I think in this chain I prefer D300 over E50 with ifi ipower x supply. Technically similar, but D300 sounds more analog.
Nice setup you have there, im running mine with Little Dot MK 2 using as headphone/preamp. Heard great things about that liquid spark, how do you like the sound ? I did upgrade the tubes and it does sound much better, may keep it a little longer.
