Shure SRH1540 Review

I think I really want to try the SRH1540 but I am freaked out by the bass bump on the frequency graph at Headroom.

Base is very low end sub bass. I own the Ultrasone Pro 900's and the 1540's are low end, but it is sub bass. They sound absolutely amazing to be honest. If you are not a trebelphile then you will be completely happy with the 1540's.

They are the best headphones I have ever owned for all types of music.

I am looking to buy a new set of cans to replace my SRH840.
How good is SRH1540 in terms of female vocals? I heard the mids are not too forward...
I mostly listen to vocal trance.

I find it's dependent on the track recording. The mids sound very forward to me when playing Madonna and other 80's pop music. It's all down to the track and the way it was recorded. These headphones are very true to the original sound.

I'm most interested in the isolation and distortion tests. The 1840 was supposed to have higher distortion figures, though I've never got the chance to audition. I'd love to hear these and them.

Distortion or not, BOTH sound quite good!

The distortion and isolation tests are up on InnerFidelity along with the 1840s too.

I can't find them even with the search. Can you give me a link? It's probably right under my nose, but I'm having mental technical difficulties.

Try headroom's graphs too. They have both 1540 and 1840's distortion graph. 1540 is actually better in terms of technical capability(as least that's how interpreted the graphs).

I bought a srh1540 yesterday,I tested it before i bought it, the high pitch is slightly harsh to me on female vocal, most probably because it's new out of the box, just want to ask does after some times the sound changed? If yes roughly how many hours of burn in?
