My typing leaves a lot to be desired. LOL
You’re good, my friend, and cute dog! I’m going to be installing a tracking dog named Titan onto my Fitbit Ionic and I’ll be “feeding” it based on how much/far I walk for each day. Should be fun!

I would like to buy a TOTL IEM, currently still using the SE420 (and loving them).
Given that the SE846 are 3-4 years old now, do we know if there are any rumours about a successor? I don't consider the KSE1500 a 'real' successor.

Thanks

Well, the KSE1500 is a real successor in terms of clarity and resolution (IMHO, it's a successor to every other headphone in that regard.) It's definitely a successor with respect to price  it's just not a successor in terms of portability.

I don't know of any rumored replacement/upgrade/successor to their multi-BA line of IEMs. The SE846 are still a great purchase in this ultra-portable category for several reasons:

1) Amazing quantity and quality of sub-bass that doesn't bleed into the mids.
2) They aren't vented, so they isolate really well.
3) Compared with other modern IEMs, the buds are ergonomically-shaped and still relatively small, making it easier to get a comfortable fit.
4) They have long, thin nozzles which gives you the choice of a huge range of third party eartips, and also helps achieve a good fit and an isolating seal.
5) Custom shells are available from Sensaphonics, which basically turn these UIEMs into CIEMs.
6) If you want to tune the FR, you have a huge range of filter mods, beyond just the stock white, blue and black filters.

There's still no other IEM out there that ticks all these boxes.

I have been bitten by the tia Fourte bug, so I think I will sell my mint SE846, along with the extra ALO Reference 8, 4.4mm Sony balanced cable, various nozzle filters, and Knowles damper mods...The Shures rock, but I just had to listen to the tia Fourte...doing a final listen today. Tia Fourte is, in my mind, in a totally different league. It sounds like a high-quality, open-back headphone, but yet with bass.

And I am also thinking about purchasing a Chord Mojo to go with the SE846....I plan to keep this set-up for the next 5-7 years (just like I did with the SE420).

Source is Spotify 320.
You will love the pairing! The Mojo and SE846's sound great together.

The Fourte is a good-sounding IEM, but it's massively over-priced for what it is (standard DD and BA drivers). The TIA thing is nothing special and nothing revolutionary (IEMs like the CA Andromeda also use 3D printed shells without driver tubes.) And the Fourte's Apex module is pure, 100% snake oil.

You should check out the Beyerdynamic Xelentos when you get a chance. Better ergonomics, better SQ and much less expensive than the Fourte.

noble encore is an excellent next step if your seeking more detail than 846 but still want a bass wall. not quite as snug a fit but still isolates well.

I agree about the sound, but it's not a foregone conclusion that people will be able to fit them in their ears. They're big, with huge stubby nozzles. They didnt work for me :frowning2:

This is a pretty decent approximation of the sound of my tinnitus.
After the craniotomy, I could not hear at all. Now my hearing is a bit better. Thank goodness/God for life!

A bit OT but I can find the IE800 for £449 through work (official from Senhheiser).

I am worried about the quality of their olives as I read they are silicon only. I really like the ones from my SE420.
