Nice images; i'm curious about those modded tips.

Comply ts100 arrived a few days ago, in their stock form they smothered the sound quite a lot and made the mid range sounds kinda strange, so i got to cutting. This is the best I've found so far, overall sounds really good but still some room for improvement.

It's a silver lit wires. Ordered from local audio shop.
I gave up two P.W ICs which are same price (one copper, one hybrid).
My hd800s and ibasso sr1 use cable from that shop too.

CP240's sounding fantastic... otherwise they'll sound muffled and still fairly peaky. But once in right, they're fantastic.

I'm a big fan of the 240s, have been the primary tip I've used with these over the past year.

That said, someone posted graphs w/ the CP240s vs. various other tips and they actually increase that 9k peak quite a bit.

i found that they were peaky until i got a deep insertion, then they were fine.
At the moment the ts100 cut down are my favorite, for my ears they take the peak off while improving the weird sucked out dip. Keeping the clarity of the highs and the full bodied sound. I have no idea how this works though since i don't understand the acoustics of the inner ear.
My second favorites probably being the stock foams (olives?), third cp240's.

This is my assessment too. What do you mean by "cut down"? You cut the inner mesh out?

Picture in one of my above posts under a spoiler.
I cut the top of the ear tip off flat to the tube, thinking that having no foam past the end of the nozzle might improve the highs and reduce the smothered sound, but it didnt.
So then i partly diagonally cut the sides back and it turned out really well. I have no idea why.

As a note, I probably wouldnt recommend someone go out to buy some just to cut up, since I'm not sure how itll work with other ears. But if u have some lying around...

Really impressed with what KSE does with Bruckner. I listed to the ninth symphony with Karajan and am now listening to the fourth with Jochum and it's really a master of orchestral timbre. The strings are just spot on, the details absolutely overflowing.

Last year I was only auditioning in shop the 64audio altough quite extensively.

Here are my impressions
https://www.head-fi.org/threads/shu...tatic-earphones.785377/page-250#post-14301767

This time I've Mellianus borrowed for 3 weeks, Khan for one week and KSE are my private unit bought a year ago.

I'm still using mostly Sony WM1A. I've tried and reviewed both Chord Mojo and Hugo 2 but overall I still prefer the Sony with KSE. The Mojo is ok but it's not very impressive technically for me, definately below the WM1A and Hugo2 is too clean sounding. The transparency, resolution, soundstage and cripsness when paired with the KSE is mind boggling but it lacks for me the warmth and organic, human touch. Hugo2 is in my opinion perfect for the Sony Z1R's (over ear, not iems) which I also own at the moment but they are way darker and with much more bass which doesn't have perfect control unlike the KSE.

What do you have your 1A volume set to when using it with the KSE? I just got a 1A not too long ago, and I'd like to see what volume settings others are using.
