Solti Brahms 3 has a tight muscular bass with KSE. Perfect with a pour over at verve!

CP240's sounding fantastic, really an overall improvement, elements of the music have been brought forwards and sounds as it should. I find i have to insert them as deeply as i can to get the clearest, most accurate sound, otherwise they'll sound muffled and still fairly peaky. But once in right, they're fantastic.
Thanks so much for the suggestion and info on not removing them too quickly. I'm still curious about the ts-100, but for now these are great.

Inserting them deeply caused one issue for me, pressure build up. Found this short but interesting thread https://www.head-fi.org/threads/iems-and-air-pressure-inside-the-ears.425537/
Equalize air pressure by breaking the seal once fully inserted, problem solved.

Cant believe a tip has remedied these , once inserted deep enough.

I received the CP240-M and CP240-L eartips and while the M size fits great, they sound quite a bit brighter than the white bi-flange (aka tri-flange with smallest flange cut off). I tested several tracks and among them, Andy Grammar - "Fine By Me" has noticeable sibilance when using the CP240 but none with the bi-flange.

Edit: Now that I think of it, I'm gonna try the CP240 with my SE846 to see if I can add some sparkle to the highs.

Just got my CP240, large. They work great. As mentioned they give a brighter, more detailed sound. Just better overall. I don't have to insert deep, however. They seal just fine with a shallow insert.

anyone know if there is disadvantage to running the kse amp at full blast and then using the dac/transport line out to control the volume?

If it's in line-out, doesn't that mean it's maxed in volume? Anyways, that's backwards. It's best to max out the volume on the source and then adjust on the KSE amp. But avoid clipping (indicated by light on amp module). If clipping, lower the volume of the source until not clipping anymore, then adjust the volume on the amp dial from there.

Sound got dry on my1500 at vol 23/25 and more.
I only use 16 to 19.

This clipping - do you also guys have issues with setting proper volume? Green ok, but getting orange is hard for me not to go to red and clipping. Hard to find sweet spot.
Also orange/red is not that easy to recognise as they look kind of similar to me.
But yeah, my wife says I don't see colours...

I've found something interesting, running kse straight from surface pro using line in, the highs are much less harsh and piercing than out of the mojo! of course the sound isn't as clean or impactful, but its much easier to listen to. I don't think the mojo is a great match for the kse; maybe i can explain it once i experiment a bit more. Sounds like the mojo is too forceful, thats the best way i can describe it right now. Kse at -10db gain, Mojo on dark blue volume.
Excited for ts100's coming next week. I prefer the acoustics of foam over silicon, more body to the sound.
bmichels i'm jealous of your sp1000, must be such a great match. But i cannot believe you've got a bigger interconnect than me

I make my own mods and cables so i have the luxury to try a lot/most kinds of cables and plugs to use that sounds the best for my ears. Cheers.

Yeah.
Mod ear tip is best way to get target sound.
Rubber tip sounds harsh, piercing highs sometime, small sound stage, thin body sound.
Foam tip easily get dirt, soft treble and less attack bass, sound stage better than rubber.
Diy ear tip archive all the best of both type.
My diy ear tip base on spinfit cp155(main component), cp800 (adapter tube) and stock foam(dust cover)
