Picked up this set of Pioneer SE-405s about two weeks ago at an estate sale. The volume controls were scratchy and temperamental and the cable was a coiled kind with a huge 6.3mm plug, so I went ahead and recabled them with Mogami 2893 and a Neutrik 3.5mm plug and did not wire up the potentiometers. They are in awesome condition otherwise, and I'm very pleased with them.

Technics EAH-500 - very nice bass response, gr8 for portables

AKG K1 - very nice look :) and decent sound

Those K1s blew my mind! I've never seen a headphone quite like that before... But I can only imagine the pain of getting hair caught in there or scraping your scalp with it!

I should really take some glamour photos of my SE-L40.

^^Hard to answer that since there are many different sounding versions of NAD RP18.
But I do believe that these belong to the top tier of vintage orthos & they deserve a decent asking price.
FWIW , I find these to be the best headphones I have heard & a tier above the best dynamic cans I have owned/ heard( HD580, HD650 , DT880 600ohm).
