Some of my unique headphones.
AcCuTex ST1000 electret with built in baby transformers. Fairly decent sounding. Bass starts to roll off at 75Hz and takes a dive at 50Hz. No idea when it was made. I can't find any information.

K-Mart Stat - It's an SR-3 clone. K-Mart and high end headphone is a very strange combination. They need recabling.

Playback 70 stat - horrible sounding unless you hate bass. Bass dives at 150Hz. It makes an electric bass sound like an electric guitar. Form the looks, I'd guess late 60s early 70s. Pictured with an SR-5 for size comparison

The driver from my Fostex T30 - measures 60 mm across. 55 mm is usable

Very nice collection scompton, all of them are nice and rare, too. I should take pics of my vintage 'stats, sometime. But to do that I'd need to own a digital camera.

A surprisingly great sounding headphone, sadly they seem to be rare as rocking horse droppings.

I am definately sure. I have seen this plug on about 3 examples of the T50 in Japanese photographs. Also the Lafayette oem has this metal style plug.

The majority though have the plastic stlye plug you showed. Not to mention I actually have a 1975 Japanese brochure scan showing a stock photo of the Japanese T50 with the metal plug. But the person who gave it to me wasnt too happy for me to post it online.

(I will announce it on the ortho thread too, but I have definately confirmed the Fostex T50 as begining from 1975 in Japan)

I too have seen similar jacks that look after-market on vintage cans.

That looks like an unusually well-made headset. I like both the headband and the open-back design. Does it have a good driver inside? How about opening it up and take a picture?
