just got these chrome beauties. these pics dont do it justice. zero info on them. zenith headphones, open air type, volume controls, large magnet type speakers. so late 70s?
these actually arrived with a bad cable so i recabled it with a spare. sound is decent for the time. decent highs and mids, has a mid bass bump. a little of the distant sound of paper cone drivers but not too much

Yes, for my then 18 year old ears, they were great! I found that photo as mine went into the trash in 94. Now I use a pair of Sony MDR - CD 870s from the mid 90s.

I have a pair cd 870 too. do the red shifter mod from the cd1700 mods to them.(page was deleted) some dampening in back of the driver and foam removal from the front of the drivers. The cd870 sound like a fuller sony v6.

Had a pair just like that from 1975 until they completely gave out somewhere around 1995. I had to make some foam pads as the originals only lasted about 15 years!! They were amazing phones!
