What a thread! 🤩
I have several, start with the Sony walkman '90s collection, here there are the Mdr-64, 54 and 44. Some days after the pic, also a Mdr-34 arrived at home. All are very good sounding, especially the 64, special mention for the cheap 34, the 44 is the more balanced, while the 54 is a bit disappointing because of a tad too much highs, still good nevertheless. I'm in search for older models like the mdr40, 51 and 62, but they seem rare and (don't) sell for crazy prices.

I had the 64, didn't have the overall presentation of the mdr-62 though. On for an MDR-84 and/or MDR-94, especially the 94. :) The 40 is great but with recessed bass, the 51 has a greater soundstage. Do you have any corresponding Aiwa stuff?

I was always curious just how much the walkman/casette player earphones go for. They're amongst the most expensive vintage earphones I've ever seen.
They are and there's a reason. The totl ones are really hidden gems in plain sight. I have an MDR-M88 for example, that one sounds mind blowing. Or the Aiwa HP-X10...these buddies can compete with anything today and there's a fair chance that they win.

No Aiwa here unfortunately! So does the 62 sound better than the 64?
