Seems to be quite a rare bird. There is a M7 Pro version out there as well.

Not much information on this, and there is no info on the box.

20 - 20 000 Hz, 100 dB, were produced between 1983-1987. The drivers are 32 Ohms, and look like 40 mm encapsulated in plastic rings.

Sound is quite V-shaped and will depend a lot on the type of ear-pads. In case of the pictures above a pair of velour pads from ali are used and they tend to "steal" a lot of bass but provide good clarity. The baffle allows different ear-pads configuration - either glued-on (original design) or you could put one over the baffle (senns hd 280 ones will fit perfectly)

Beautiful :)
On my Yamaha RH-40M (which is basically an OEM of this headphone series) I use aftermarket Sony MDR-1A ear pads.
The improved seal and thinner pads gives quite a balanced tuning to the sound, while still allowing for thunderously low sub-bass :D

Just finished the restoration:

- Thorough clean
- New head pad
- New earpads
- New sliders and hardware
- New cable (Forza AudioWorks Claire Mk2)

...sound is excellent!

How many company made electrostatic headphones? Because I currently familiar with STAX and KOSS, I also heard Beyerdynamic and Sennheiser made some, but AKG!?
It's technically not an electrostat, but an electret - dynamic hybrid.
Electrets, unlike electrostatic headphones run off normal headphones amps or AV-receiver headphone outputs.

AKG never made a true electrostatic headphone.
