My stand is just from scrap wood but it works. 2 screws hold it together so it's easy to disassemble for moving.

Yes, there are some soft leather on the top where the K1000 hang.

I doubt he would make more, as he originally made 3 stands for his back then 3 K1000's. He later parted with 2 of the K1000's and 2 stands. Don't hurt to ask though, I would guess.

Sorry, I totally missed this question.
Yeah the gap is about 2 cm. Tried any position and ended up with this one, as it seems like the ideal midway between bass extension and sound stage.
