Just got my ua5. Works really well with tidal on a MacBook but as soon as I connect to Android devices (Samsung tablet, pixel 6) the audio quality diminishes and I can control volume through the android device and the ua5.

@Shanling, not sure where I'm going wrong but can't seem to find a fix online. Help appreciated!

It was mentioned in the other UA5 thread here on Head-fi that there are issues with the UA5 and some Android based devices. For example, on the S22 Ultra you actually do not get any audio output if you first plug in the device and then start up your audio app and play music. Instead you have to open the app, start playing music, and only then plug in the UA5. Seems that Shanling has a number of issues around at least some Android devices. Hopefully they will issue firmware fixes that will address the issues that are cropping up.

Please what exactly do you mean by "Audio quality diminishes"? You are getting no sound at all? Or low volume? Or it sounds with some distortion?
What app are you using?

You can control volume on both UA5 and Android, that's standard behavior.

We got similar feedback on the charging switch and reported it for possible adjustment to the software team.

Thanks. Please make the battery icon shows how much battery charged too (like phone). So I won't be overcharging it and damage the battery.

So, we have beta firmware in testing for this issue. Hopefully will be fixed soon.
