Seems like it is a "more convenient" M0 with improved battery life. Was hoping for something more spectacular but i knew it was false hope as it is a 1-series.

You are fast! Yes, my review went live already, last night  Btw, just so there is no confusion because I received a few questions about it, the "purple" color was a special edition made for early reviewers, it's not offered on KS during the launch.

Damn, a few weeks earlier and I would have got one for sure.

I jumped on a Black Friday deal for a Fiio M9 ($120 off). If I knew this was coming I would have waited and gone for this for sure. I have no doubt overall the M9 is a better DAP but I don't need wifi or streaming. I would gladly trade those features for the 21 hr battery life on the Q1 vs 10 hrs on the M9. Power, size, features this is such a good fit for me and my headphones, not to mention the ulta-portable size. I still need to sell my M7 so I might still grab one next year when it is officially released. I found the M7 sounded slightly better than the M0 but based on early reviews I would bet the Q1 sounds better than the M7 and alot more portable, not to mention NO ANDROID!!!

Pictured like that, the Q1 screen sure looks a lot prettier.

Waiting another 26 days for the next step is going to be hard.

Do you have any final backer goals? Are you advertising the campaign elsewhere? The goal seemed quite low, I suspect you intend to sell many more.

As we are not some small startup needing money to setup whole production, our funding goal was pretty much set to amount that would cover our extra expenses we had with the campaign, compared to our standard release.

We are doing kind of standard marketing most smaller Kickstarters do, no big advertising agencies for us.

I got some "expected final numbers" from my managers, so will see how it will go.

ahhhhhh. I saw the topic and the picture and thought "finally someone made a worthy successor to the sansa clip". After seeing the dimensions of this and that it still uses a touchscreen i am disappointed.

dear shanling. please consider an m0 sized device without touchscreen, maybe just monochrome eink and physical buttons including a lock switch.

In which ways does new Shanling Q1 improve upon our popular M0? Read more at http://bit.ly/ShanlingQ1vsM0

I had the M0 for 6 months and it was a great sounding DAP for it's size and price. But I sold it as the screen was to small and touchscreen to hard to use with the MTouch 1.0 OS, looks like you have made major strides with the OS on the Q1. The Q1 looks like what I wished the M0 would have been with a bigger screen and buttons. I will definitely try one out when it gets released next year, hopefully in Canada. Unfortunately I just bought a Fiio M9 on Black Friday so I can't afford to take part in the Kickstarter campaign. Not expecting the Q1 to sound as good as the M9 but it has several features I don't need like balanced output, wifi and streaming and battery life isn't great compared to the Q1.

If I could picture the perfect DAP for me for size, features, specs and hopefully sound quality (pretty confident) it would be the Q1!.

As tempted as I am to take part, once you add on any extra costs to import the Q1 it likely won't be much cheaper than buying it locally when it is released. The other benefit is getting feedback from others and reading some reviews before buying. I have been burned before buying products on first release so I will wait for some feedback first. Will definitely demo one once it becomes available.

Local taxes is something we can't influence. Neither it's something that local distributor can ignore, so they just charge it to customer.

We tried to get as many reviews as possible, few should still be coming. Of course users reviewer are kind of impossible to get at this stage.
