Also 'considered' selling the m8, but what would I replace it with that would sound better and wouldn't cost significantly more.

I'm having "NO" thoughts of selling my M8. I just love the warm full-bodied sound signature too much!!!

because I have another DAP, FiiO M17, which is more suitable for home use. So I decided to sell the M8 as I don't listen to music outside.
But now I'm not sure if it's worth selling the M8, because I really like the sound of the M8, it sounds different than the M17

For the amount of money you can get should you sell, I'd say keep it. I don't think there's a better sounding dap on the market for the used price.

I paid a deposit for IEM IMR Enigma +, this is another reason why I am selling my M8, I hope in the fall or winter I will need to pay the remaining amount for Enigma +

Yes, it plays mp4 just fine. mkv as well.

Since the update, Apple Music has been buggy (slow to load, occasionally playing song, but no sound coming out). Qobuz is fine, so I know it's not the headphones, cable, or M8. I just deleted all of my Qobuz downloaded music to switch to Apple downloads for offline play (quicker downloads, smaller file size). I really hope a new update of AM fixes this.

Could you also check on DSD tracks pls, I hear ~1.5s muted offset
Should notice: this is related to switching between tracks, not single track conditions
