This sounds like maybe an android bug. See if you have anything related to battery optimisation management on? Go to battery and take those features off.
Reset to factory could be an option to.
Does it happened with particular file format or its random?
Maybe you have power save option on?
I did the factory reset...it didnt help...all settings are defaultThis sounds like maybe an android bug. See if you have anything related to battery optimisation management on? Go to battery and take those features off.

I ran into the exact issue as reported by @szore yesterday as well. I was playing my songs in Prime mode and suddenly the playback speed was definitely at least -4x to -6x slower. Doing a pause or even a reboot did not cure this problem. Only when I shutdown the M8 and then turned it back on, did this issue go away. It could definitely be somewhere within the android audio stack or something in Shanling's current firmware implementation. @Shanling, can you ask your software team to inspect the current audio path implementation in your firmware codes and android audio stack to see if this kind of issue could have happened? I understand that this might be hard to produce on your side, but inspecting the audio path (from your Shanling app --> android audio stack -> Shanling audio HAL driver) might help to uncover this issue. This issue is definitely real and severely impacts user experience when the issue occurs. The M8 'music slowdown' happens often...it just happened 2x in under a minute...then random pauses... it's starting to interfere with music enjoyment...
if i just hit pause, then start, it plays normal. It has happened 4 X's this morning alreadyI ran into the exact issue as reported by @szore yesterday as well. @Shanling said they couldnt replicate the issue on their sides, now we have 2 confirmed cases and it is not a single unit being in problem, sounds like a fw optimisation path needed or android doing something.
Does this issue occurs in any other apps?
I am trying to think of what could this be? Does it happend with different music format type or with the same music tracks? How long does it take for this to happen after the screen has been of? maybe its a battery saving thing?
Well, I only use the Shanling installed app... i do not notice any pattern...except I always use balance out.... i really just use M8 for music, nothing fancy.... Sometimes when I hit pause, then start, instead of just playing normal speed, it may play music really fast for a second or two, almost like it is trying to catchup to the previous slowdown...maybe a buffering issue?@Shanling said they couldnt replicate the issue on their sides, now we have 2 confirmed cases and it is not a single unit being in problem, sounds like a fw optimisation path needed or android doing something.

I’ve had my M8 now for a few weeks and absolutely love it!
One issue I have is when I turn it on and it comes up in Android mode, I immediately switch to Prime mode and the volume is very low even at max volume. A reboot fixes it with volume back to normal.
I have the latest firmware loaded.
