Shanling M8 Android Portable player

I downloaded the Hiby app and it's my favorite and I'm going to stick with it. Honestly unless you need something super compact or more than 10 hours battery life you simply can't go wrong with the M8...it's an amazing device.

That’s the thing, I don’t like Android music apps out there short of the custom ones—I am a pain, I know but 🤷🏼‍♂️

I've been using the Hiby app on the M8 for the last 12 hours or so and I've noticed an improvement in battery life to the order of what looks to be an extra 1-2 hours/charge. Using the Hiby player my M8 seems to getting the same amount of battery life that my n6ii did with essentially the same app (~10-11 hours per charge in turbo gain bal). I suspect the Shanling player's inefficient handling/indexing files takes a toll on the battery life. Anyway totally hooked on this player.

That’s what I was referring to by maturity in my earlier post also...

Still interested—will keep following what happens around the m8.

I’m 90% sure I’ll bite the bullet—due to the overwhelming feedback on the sound signature/timbre.

You will love it

No such report, but seems Bluetooth is not really used much by owners of M8.

Can you tell me which LDAC setting and what Bluetooth headphones/speaker are you using?

Can you please tell me how many files you have? Library system in our app is not the most agile.

Using third party apps, there is no support for DSD (only D2P).

I have tried LDAC - Sound quality and LDAC - connection first. Connecting to a Sony SRS-X99 speaker.

Happy to say, after my factory reset my Qobuz issues are gone. Thanks Shanling.
