That's a bit misleading as Amazon Music will always display 192 on any DAP I had so far but is playing only with a limited rate depending on the recording
This attached snapshot is from my iPhone (not M8) to illustrate that the Pink Floyd album is 24/96
On M8 it is saying that M8 could do 24/192 maximum but song is playing at 24/96

Not extensively tested the different player apps but found out that PowerAmp is defaulting to 352,8 khz and playing silent with hiss (I will uninstall this one)
Hiby seems to come out as best SQ and feature wise.
Guys, you need to try MSEB, I though that was reserved only for Hiby devices but no...
But there's also a quirk with sample rate.
Seems that you start with some normal 44khz and then for some song it jumps to 352,8 and is stuck there which of course is making Martha sweat.
Anyone finding a solution here would be great as this player is awesome Imho...

I don't have any 'zipper bag' yet, but I have purchased a storage case that is semi-transportable...
I purchased from AliExpress: shorturl.at/ltzAF
For $18 I couldn't grumble at all - smooth zipper, firm case and it fits the M8 in the leather case. There's some shedding of the inner felt but it seems to be stopping now (having only had it for a few weeks).
