Shanling M6 PRO - New version coming Summer 2021
May 16, 2020 at 3:52 PM Post #121 of 959
@Shanling - I have a few M6 Pro questions, thank you in advance for answering :)

1) Does the M6 Pro support BT wireless headphones for USB DAC source material? Can I pair with and listen to USB DAC output with my BT headphones?

2) While listening to USB DAC source material can I use the Android system, or is Android locked off when the M6 Pro is sourcing USB DAC material? For example while I am listening to USB DAC source can I browse the internet, check my email with gmail, and use other Android applications?

3) While in BT receive mode can I use the Android system, or is Android locked off when the M6 Pro is receiving / streaming BT material? For example while I am listening to BT source can I browse the internet, check my email with gmail, and use other Android applications?

4) Does the M6 Pro have full Google Play Store access? Can I download (not sideload) apps from the Google Play Store, and will my gmail / etc use my google Account stored in the Accounts section of Android?

5) Can I be dual connected to my PC via USB DAC and BT at the same time, so as when I disconnect from the USB cable the M6 Pro will continue playing the source material from my PC via BT?

6) Is there an upgrade path planned for the Android version on the M6 Pro? Android 9 or 10?

Thank you again, and sorry if any of these have been asked and answered already, I appreciate your assistance.

@Dsnuts - I read your M15 / M6 Pro comparison comments, thank you for the sound comparisons - I found your comments very helpful. Do you have any comments on my above questions? How to you compare the Android usability with the M6 Pro as compared to the M15? How is the fluidity of the Android interface compared between the M6 Pro vs M15?

1) No, M6 Pro doesn't support USB BT transmitter function, that is available only on our MTouch devices.

2) When used as USB DAC, M6 Pro is locked in this mode. No other functions/apps/system are available.

3) Locked in BT receiver mode.

4) GMS and Google play can be activated on M6 Pro by user.

5) When you disconnect USB cable, you would need to make sure your computer connect to M6 Pro over BT. It doesn't support such dual connection.

6) Android 9 is in our plans.

My M6 pro has arrived and it’s just amazing after 30min out of the box.
I come from Hiby R5 and it’s a triple jump ahead.
This Shanling drive IMR RAH very very well with authority and this combo I think is amazing guys😍

Wait till you get a good weeks worth of run in on the player. It gets better and better. I notice sonic improvement using my Luna which is my test bed for DAPs now as it is about as transparent an earphone as it gets. Shows true sonic qualities from any source it is attached to.

I am interested in your reasons because I have an R5 and I am thinking of upgrading to the R6 pro. Now perhaps I should consider the M6 Pro.

@dasadab you can't compare R5 to M6 pro because they play in different league in everything.
R5 is a super compact dap, perfect in mobility and enjoyable like you know, but M6 pro sounds like hiend component and also software is faster and better.
Don't forget Hiby R5 cost 300$ and Shanling M6 pro cost 750/760$

Does M6 pro will have MSEB like Hiby R5 with Android 9?
It’s an amazing feature that I miss

I’m listening M6 pro with Klipsch HP3 and it’s an amazing combo also in SE mode with Turbo gain.
I’m listening loud to 58/100 volume level
