I think you'll be fine. I THINK if you just let the M6 "set the card" it will simply add the Android system files which will be ignored by the other DAPS.

Nope, didn't work. The Set Up option wants to reformat and erase the card.

But I did find another identical card in my drawer (smaller capacity) with the same files on it, and it worked right away. So, apparently there's some hidden reason why the other card isn't working on this DAP. They literally have the same files on them and I have only used them on one other computer to load the files. And like I said the other card still works on my other DAPs.

So bottom line I guess is that I can use this "new" card exclusively for this player. No big deal I guess.

Some quick thoughts on the M6 Pro 21, coming from the M3X:

• Overall a cleaner, less colored sound. More true to source.
• Small improvements to treble clarity, soundstage depth, and microdetail
• Bass is less "dynamic" (slightly less texture, faster decay)

I like the M3X more, but it's going to come down to personal preference. With DAPs in particular I want my source to be colored, and the warmth/bass texturing of the M3X make my all-BA sets shine. M3X sounds smoother and more natural on the BA IEMs I listen to. I imagine those with a DD or hybrid/tribrid set would prefer the M6 Pro 21.

All of that aside, I highly recommend buying audio equipment from MusicTeck.com if you're in the US. Andrew provides exceptional customer service, and carries Shanling DAPs.

This is quite strange, I don't rember anytime experiencing such message on my units.

It's possible that this card was formatted by some of your other player or added some special hidden files that might be causing some issue with system on M6.
I would recommend to format it on your computer to standard exfat format and start freshly with it, copying there just music files. It should work fine with all your devices after that.

Not sure about the M8, but for the M6 Pro, just tap the light bulb. Any current firmware update should be available.

Ive done all my Shanling Updates by downloading the firmware and placing the file in the root directory on the on board storage. It's fast and simple this way. Once the update is complete, just delete the file.

Tried to find shuffle play, but gave up. Maybe after break in I will be more patient. Does this DAP have Prime mode like M8?

Yes, it has prime mode, it's in quick access menu.

Car mode - designed to be used mainly in cars, when you have player connected to charger at all times. It then automatically starts on when charging starts and shuts off when charging stops. We recommend to keep it turned off at all times if you are not using it in such situation.

Shuffle mode, in Shanling app you can change it by tapping symbol in left down corner (next to arrow to previous song))
