Single card slot should be no issue. With 400GB card costing 100 bucks it should be no problem. And even higer capacity already on the horizon. Hopefully then library limit is a bit more generous. (15,000 at least)

Would be great to see a significant step up up in battery life. 20 hrs SE and 12 hrs balanced would be more than nice.
Not sure how efficient these new DAC chips are. But otherwise what would be the reason to use these?
Looking forward to some further specs.

File limit in our system is 40 000 files.
And why use new DACs? For better sound of course.

ok, 40,000 file limt should be more than enough for nearly everybody.
Oh, which reminds me that album artist is hopefully implemented in the library.
Lack of same made me use file browser on my M2s....

Honestly I don't think nowadays DACs are making a significant difference in sound quality.
They are outdeveloped. But if they offer higher efficiency and therefore lead to longer battery life
by all means they are appreciated.

@Shanling Are you guys planning on implementing EQ that works also with an unit in USB-DAC mode? Lack of this feature drawn me away from many DAPs in the past and moved me towards your players so it's rather important feature to me. Asking this since you'll essentially switch to new OS so in the perspective of that change 'old' functionalities could've been different.

What will this be used for 2x AD8397? Also since LDAC connection is a lossy connection can i connect m5s through a wired connection with my phone?

AD8397 is headphone amplifier.

Regarding LDAC and it's lossy/lossless connection, you can talk to Sony about this.

As is listed, M5s works as USB DAC, if it will work with your phone depends on your phone. It can work with most modern Androids.

I'm loving M0 as a mobile LDAC transport for my Huawei P20Pro and high-end wired IEMs. Having Tidal streaming and even better internals would be great if the price point is right.
I believe guys you need to include the LDAC streaming as one of the main USPs into your marketing story. There are a lot of great phones without 3,5mm jacks and still enough people owning good wired headphones you could target. The only comparable product is Radsone Earstudio but it does not add DAP functionality.
The only thing I am missing in M0 is probably microphone input pass-through. Not sure if this is even technically possible with the LDAC implementation you guys have.

Will the M5s be as friendly for text-file-based playlists as the M3s? I almost exclusively use M3U playlists that I build from my desktop and upload to the M3s.

There is also a 128-character length limit on the filenames in the M3U files for the M3s. Could I ask that the new player have a much longer length limit? With a moderately-deep directory tree of organized music tracks, the current limit is easily exceeded. At least 256 would be great.

Everything sounds promising. Keeping it as all-in-one solution differentiates you from your competition. In my opinion only similarly feature rich device from Chord would threaten your position, but then it would be more expensive. Still people would prefer Chord for obvious reasons (custom chips, custom algorithms). Also, MTouch system still offers only basic functionality. You really need to progress in that area. Audiobooks please. Wide (20b) equalizer please. Firmware update(s) on M0 please. That way people will see that you do not abandon your products, and will buy them more.

I agree with the observation that this looks more like a replacement/upgrade for the M3S.
With regard to the Cayin N5II, this has less features but who knows may sound better. I think the Cayin sounds pretty great; but so does the M0.

I still like my warm sounding M2S for use in the car.
Yeah I'm using it for my car as well. Small, fast and powerful.

Audiobooks is feature we mainly want to see if M0. I doubt many people are buying expensive audiophile devices for audioboks.
M5s will include EQ, so far we have version with 10 bands, but we are cooperating with one other software company on pushing EQ to be even better.

Firmware update for M0 is in the works.

Dlna and airplay streaming should be lossless, right? Let’s say we have an hi-fi system with dlna calabilities, then we can stream from this dap, right?

Right.

So... when can I expect an update that adds audiobook (and hopefully Podcast) support?
