Hi, first time commenting. I've been enjoying my M5s but yesterday I encountered a problem when trying to update to firmware 2.3. I downloaded the update, placed it in the root of my SD card and attempted to update. I got a notice that the update failed and now the player is stuck in a boot loop, starting up, stating the update failed and restarting, only to say the same thing. I've tried everything I can think of to stop this loop but it's still stuck, failing to update and restarting, every time. What can I do to fix this?
Have you tried removing the SD card? So far I've just done OTA updates and they worked fine. Hope you can get it sorted as I know that can be really frustrating. Hopefully, @Shanling can suggest something.

Here's my full written review of the M5s. It's definitely going to get a lot of play-time!

Yep, tried that. Still stuck. I even redownloaded the update to the SD card and popped it back in, thinking that might help. No such luck.

I've updated my M5s many times via TF card without any issue. Could the card itself be the culprit?

So have I. I updated twice before, I believe, without issue. I'm not sure if the card is the problem but I'll give it a shot, nonetheless.

Congratulation, according to my colleagues you are first person to ever crash M5s during firmware update.

Please send me PM, there is something to try.

Well...hmm...thanks, I guess? What a dubious honor.

But I'll send a PM in a moment.

Does this device support Tidal yet? And more specifically offline playback.

We have beta version of firmware with Tidal, still working on making it more stable and adding some last few features.

Offline playback is available only on native Android and iOS apps, not possible on any small system.

Also, is anyone still having issues with the volume wheel? The volume jumps all over the place when I use it. Not sure if its a fw or hw issue.

Yes! I’m experiencing this too!

When using the wheel the volume jumps up and down randomly 1 to 5 steps. Sometimes it even jumps down when scrolling up and vice versa. I’ve only noticed this with the latest FW so hopefully it’s a bug and not a hardware issue. @Shanling is this a known issue that is being addressed in the next FW release? It’s very annoying and makes it difficult to get your desired volume!

Yes, my unit running on the latest firmware is plagued with the inaccurate volume wheel issue as well.
