Hello everyone, I have my shanling m3x half a year ago and I want to know if I can connect it to some active speakers so that I can play my music through them, I have klipsch r51 pm speakers and I would like to be able to play my shanling music through them, can I? how can i connect them? I hope you can help me, thank you. Oh, one thing, I hope the connection is wired, not Bluetooth.
Hi, yes, you can use M3X with active monitors easily.

Looking at R51PM manual, you can use a basic 3.5mm cable going from 3.5mm output of M3X into the speaker. You can control the volume on M3X.

Are the European versions of the M3X sold in Europe volume restricted in any way, or have reduced power output?
Sony do restrict volume, Shanling don't. I have a UK Shanling M3X and it has good power and lot's of volume, more than you will need for IEM's and most headphones.

@Shanling Are you aware of a bug where the unit freezes up and requires a hard reset (i.e. holding the volume dial in for 30 seconds or so). During the freeze music continues to play, but the unit doesn't respond to any buttons, the volume wheel, or to taps.

I've encountered this a couple of times this week, but also prior to the last firmware release. Would be nice to have that fixed, as it's quite frustrating.

Sorry, I don't know how to reproduce it reliably. Last time it happened I had long pressed on the android deskop and then tapped the desktop to dismiss the menu...

A bit concerning since I began life with this machine on a negative note: in which it would turn itself on in the middle of the night, despite a proper shutdown. A couple of days after a hard reset the problem went away. Nonetheless, your report leaves me wondering about the possibility of future boobytraps.

The M3X is one of the less-buggy DAPs that I've tried. Much less buggy than any of the Hiby OS offerings.

My only real niggles with the M3X are:

- The freeze bug i mentioned above.
- Shanling music app isn't good (merges albums with the same name, no gapless, playlist support clunky). Solved by installing poweramp (or your preferred player).
- Hardware buttons can't be used to skip tracks when being used as a bluetooth receiver (this does work on e.g. R3 sabre and AP80).
- Headset buttons can't be used to skip tracks.
- It's a big ol' brick of a player.
- Old android version.
- No system-wide EQ.

Thanks. Helps relieve much of the jitters. :)

Not something we would see reported from other users. You can send me PM, can check if this might be caused by some app/files, etc.

Unfortunately I have problem with heavy battery drain, it loses 50% battery in 12 hours without reason. I didn't find any solution for it. Disappointing.
Also after a hard reset and before further configuring it?
