Yes, it is a lot, but I had players and phones with similar drain and I can live with it. Unfortunately at the moment after 12 hours M3x loosing 50-60% battery live. It looks like M3x don't go into deep sleep for some reason, any idea why?
It should go into sleep. If it loses so much power over 12 hours of no active use, it must be either some app running, some network misbehaving or battery dying.

I would recommend to make sure you are running the latest firmware, do factory reset and keep it sitting with wi-fi/bluetooth disabled. If you still see big battery drain, contact your seller for warranty.

deep doze started on android 6 and light doze started on android 7, and was just really optimized (or rather really work) on later android versions. I read somewhere that google devices on Nougat will be upgraded by google since everything needed for upgrading has been available since Nougat ("This technology was available with Android Nougat 7.0 for the first time . Nevertheless, despite its benefits, not all companies have yet adopted it.") But Shanling insists their "software team" doesn't have the know how on how to update their devices. Real seamless dozing is available on higher versions of android and that's that regarding doze

I read that Shanling replied to you, just install their "latest" obsolete Android 7 firmware

Yes, as long as Neutron isn't manipulating the stream (i.e. bit-perfect), the Hiby DAC should decode the MQA information. That's one of the advantages of having a full decoder rather than a renderer (which depends on software for the first unfold).
I don't even use a Hiby player. Neutron does not act that way before and they actually said they won't support MQA in the past

Yes, my mistake. I meant to say M3X (not Hiby). Neutron isn't doing any of the MQA decoding, it's the MQA decoder DAC in the DAP.

Thanks. Latest firmware is installed, I'done factory reset through recovery. No other apps installed beside Accubattery, which shows very good battery health. Unfortunately, item bought used on ebay, so without warranty.

How does the m3x behave with hifiman Sundara? Does the m3x have enough power? And with an xduoo xd05 plus?

And what about Senns HD600/HD650/HD6XX?
M3X can drive Sundara but without much headroom, High gain 80-90 Balanced, i don’t have senn’s line up so if easier to drive than Sundara of course M3X can do it, for headphone any high power amp is recommended.

Ok, my m3x loosing power even if it is turned off. So it looks like unit is defective somehow, any idea what could it be? Battery itself?
Yes, that would point to battery issues. Given it's used unit and god knows how it was used, your first try could be to go to the seller and demand refund.

Otherwise replacement batteries can be sourced from our partners at Linsoul: https://www.linsoul.com/blogs/announcements/shanling-audio-repair-services-at-linsoul-audio
