Mine arrieved today with same issue!!

Could either of you try to make a short video or audio recording, if you would be able to capture the sound?
Can only think it to be either loose battery (normally glued to the back panel) or loose shielding panel inside.

Inspecting closer, I can actually see the case back moving a fraction of a mm. It's the case back knocking on the chassis.

@Shanling is the case back glued on?
I dont think it is. Mine has gotten loose or popped off a couple of times when I've dropped it. I snapped it back on.

It's held in place by plastic prongs and bit of glue.

Maybe this is kind of a funny question, for @Shanling and anyone who might know... but is there a reason to worry about wearing out the jack on the player by plugging in and unplugging headphones every day, or several times a day? I ask because I remember that my old Sansa player could be used for a few months before the jack would just stop working. And it was the same story with my ipod shuffle. (Yes these are both cheap, older players.) So with Shanling players, like the M3X, I've been leaving the primary headphones I use connected all the time so that doesnt happen, wrapping the cord around the player when not in use. But it's not great for the cord, or the IEMs for that matter, as they arent in their own case. So... nothing to worry about here, no issue? Do the headphone jacks just stop working from overuse... or does that never really happen? I'd like the jacks and players to last as long as possible, several years. (If it matters, I'm always using the balanced jack. On both the M2X and M3X).

No, if you are just inserting headphones for normal daily use, it will have no impact on the device.

Excellent, thanks, good to hear. I imagine it could be a few times a day of attaching and removing. But thats normal daily use... if its no issue, great.
