@Ferdze From my understanding, it does not require a dongle.

Yes, you can use M3X with external DACs. It should recognize it automatically and switch to USB output mode.
Please what cable are you using?
First thing to try is to hold power button down for 12 seconds and then repeat that. That is forced shut down and forced start.
Just to be sure: There is no pinhole for restart on M3X. Under the wheel is LED diod. If you push on that, you can just break it off.
It's kind of funny. Album artist was added to Mtouch players so long time ago, yet still missing form our Android app.
Weird. I used a non-dac type C to 3.5 adapter that came with the huawei p30 pro, there is no sound output on the m3x and I'm using just an iem for that@Ferdze From my understanding, it does not require a dongle.
This is confusing, you can use M3X as Dac by connecting pc to M3X and use USB DAC mode, then use M3X as Source by connecting M3X to Dac with type C cable, i think its because nothing can process the data from M3X is why you don’t have sound, try dongle with dac in it.Weird. No worries. Just a bit curious how you were able to use usb without a dongle, but already saw you used it with an external DAC which is basically the same thing. Thanks for taking your time to replyHi @Ferdze , I am connecting M3X using USB C to USB Type B cable to an external DAC. The USB output on M3X outputs digital signal thus as LunarLight mentioned, in your case you will need a dongle with DAC. Apologies for the confusion.
*edit: I haven’t try using M3X connected via USB output to a dongle with DAC, so am not sure about the results. Maybe @Shanling can advise.
Sending you in PM.@Shanling So i decided to reset my M3X collab, i thought that the wallpaper and included music is part of the stock firmware... so it actually just normal m3x with add-ons that disappear after reset... another miss, how do i get them back?
Have any question about our players? Just PM me or send me email.

When I use iPad as the source and the same set up, there is no pop.Thank you.
For this I can only report it to our software team, if they will get chance to test this combination.
There is not a massive amount of difference but I like the M3X more. Sound wise the M3X is crisper and more detailed IMHO. The M3X is not amazingly fast, only 2 Gig of RAM, but on the V30 I had to 'trick' it into Quad DAC mode, the Shanling just plays...very well indeed, especially 4.4mm and drives all my IEMs.How does Shanling M3x perform sound-wide in comparison with LG V30?
I am considering to get used one, remove Google stuff etc. leaving the music only, achieving mush sleeker design and better UI performance.
I do not ask about output power, I use IEM only with DAPs.
